Rock Island Man Struck And Killed By Vehicle Saturday

The Tennessee Highway Patrol has identified the Rock Island man who was struck and killed by a vehicle Saturday night. The THP says 36-year-old Paul T. Ward was standing beside a disabled vehicle when he was struck by an oncoming 2008 Toyota. The driver of the Toyota was identified as 23-year-old Sarah Simmons. A 21-year-old DeKalb County resident will have to serve at least two more years behind bars. A parole board has denied release for Jessica May, who is currently serving an eight-year sentence for attempted aggravated child neglect.
