Boards Approve Merger Between UCHRA, UCDD

A merger between the Upper Cumberland Human Resource Agency and Upper Cumberland Development District was approved Tuesday morning. An investigation is underway after a fire destroyed a home in Monterey early Tuesday morning. Commission To Request State To Enact 1-Percent Restaurant Tax

The Cumberland County Commission approved on Monday night a resolution asking state lawmakers to enact a 1-percent restaurant privilege tax in the county. If approved by the state next year, the money would help construct the proposed Cumberland County expo center.
