Semi Accident Spills Fertilizer Near I-40 in Crossville

A tractor-trailer accident along I-40 eastbound in Crossville has shut down the on-ramp at exit 317.

Cumberland County EMA Director Rick Williams said the on-ramp will be closed for several hours as crews work to clean up fertilizer spilled in the accident.

“We have A FedEx truck that’s on its side… we have eight totes of fertilizer and we’re having a cleanup company coming to offload the product,” Williams said. “The on-ramp will be closed until the product is offloaded.”

Williams said the truck driver was not injured in the accident. No word on what may have caused the truck to roll over.
