A craft fair tradition happening since the early 1980’s returns for another year in Van Buren County.
The Beautiful Christmas Craft Fair opens this Friday and Saturday through the local UT ag extension office. Agent Paula May said the event will have 19 local vendors.
“Several of them are new vendors that have not been here before,” May said. “We have of course homemade crafts. We have some vendors that are selling products. We have quilts, t-shirts, jewelry. We have all sorts of things.”
May said if you get hungry while shopping, food will be available such as pulled pork, nachos and more. May said a Christmas photo booth will also be available for families. May said the fair serves as a perfect opportunity to knock out some early Christmas shopping.
“A lot of it is Christmas related,” May said. “Somethings like the jewelry not necessarily might be Christmas, but it would be a great gift for someone special.”
May said not only will you be supporting local businesses, but purchases also help the local 4-H chapter. May said some of the money is used to send children to 4-H camp.
“Not just our junior camp and junior high camp, but also our older 4-H’ers who are involved in some all-star activities and conferences they go to, because those cost money too,” May said.
The craft fair opens Friday from noon until 6:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It will be located at the Ag Learning Center at 288 Spring Street in Spencer.
