Cookeville Man Faces Sex Offender Registry Charges

A Cookeville man faces three counts of violating the sex offender registry. Authorities charged 40-year-old Joe Allen Garrett for failure to disclose two unregistered email addresses. Garrett also possessed a Facebook account under Joseph Garrett. Officials booked Garrett into the Putnam County Jail on Friday with a $4,500 bond. Garrett has since posted bail. Approximately 1,450 students will graduate during Tennessee Tech’s two commencement ceremonies on Saturday. Columbia Man Arrested for Third DUI Charge

Tennessee Highway Patrol officers arrested a Columbia man following a traffic crash on Monday. Authorities charged 61-year-old David Wade Calvert with driving under the influence. Law enforcement identified Calvert as the driver of a vehicle that dropped an appliance into the roadway causing a crash.
