Baxter Woman Killed In Burgess Falls Road Crash

A crash on Burgess Falls Road in Putnam County claimed the life of a Baxter woman Monday. The Tennessee Highway Patrol identified the deceased as 19-year-old Chantel Gomez. A crash report said Gomez was traveling South when her 2004 Volkswagen Beetle crossed the center line. Perez Accused Of Attempting To Stab Man With Box Cutter

A Cookeville man landed behind bars Sunday for allegedly attempting to cut another man with a box cutter. Fentress County Relocating Solid Waste Department

The Fentress County Solid Waste Department will soon be moving from above the Pinckley Building. Cookeville Council Approves New TVA Agreement

The Cookeville City Council has approved a new long-term agreement with the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA). The 20-year deal comes with a 3.1-percent discount on the city’s wholesale rate.
