Driver Escapes Without Injury After Vehicle Flips In Crash

A Cookeville woman escaped injuries after her vehicle flipped several times in a Friday afternoon crash. The crash happened on Highway 70 East and West Gate Road. Putnam County Sees Increase in Construction Permits

Putnam County saw an increase in the number of construction permits issued for the 2017-2018 fiscal year. County Executive Randy Porter said 339 permits were issued in the last year, up 19 percent from the 2016-2017 fiscal year. Audit Shows $130K in Questionable UCHRA Spending

An audit conducted by the Tennessee Department of Transportation has revealed over $130,000 in questionable grant spending by the UCHRA. A truck collided with a tractor trailer on Interstate 40 in Monterey Thursday.
