Several Upper Cumberland emergency districts have expressed support for a potential E-911 surcharge increase by the state. A White County man drowned Wednesday at Johnson Chapel Boat Launch on Center Hill Lake. The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office has identified the deceased as 73-year-old Joe Elkins. TDOT has selected Jones Bros. Contractors of Mt. Juliet to perform road improvement updates on Highway 56.
