Crossville Teen Faces Drug Charges

A Crossville teenager speeding through a school zone turned into a marijuana arrest Thursday. Police arrested 19-year-old Emily Elizabeth Elmore on two drug charges after stopping her Thursday morning. Officers watched Elmore pass other vehicles in a 15-mph school zone. Former Algood Police Chief To Be Laid To Rest

Algood’s former police chief will be laid to rest Saturday. William Floyd Cartwright, Sr. passed away last Friday at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Cookeville City Officials have been working with the Shoppes At Eagle Point developers on stormwater issues at the site. Police Investigate Car Theft From Willow Avenue Store

Cookeville Police are investigating the theft of a vehicle and its contents from a Willow Avenue business Wednesday morning. Police called to O`Reilly`s Auto Parts where a Monterey woman reported her 2011 Toyota Tacoma had been stolen while she shopped. Assault Conviction Of Cookeville Man Upheld

The Tennessee State Court of Appeals upheld the sentence Wednesday of a Cookeville man convicted for the May, 2015 assault of a Tennessee Tech student. Michael Kevin Schipp faces 15 years in prison after his conviction on one count of burglary of an automobile and one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
