The Algood Planning Commission approved a plan for a new Main Street instant oil change facility Thursday night.
Approval of the plan was delayed at last month’s meeting when new details emerged about the stormwater drainage plan. The new plan included an underground stormwater detention that had to be submitted for review prior to the project’s approval.
The facility will be located across from the Walmart. The facility will have some 1,700 square feet and two service bays.
UCDD Deputy Director Tommy Lee said the facility will be a great thing for the city. Lee said there were no major issues with the drainage plan, ironing out those details just takes time.
Lee said the plans will be submitted to the building inspector and once permits are received, the project will move forward.
