The City of Algood’s Statement:

The City of Algood has been made aware of charges brought against Public Works Director, Victor Jones. At this time, we are confident that any crimes committed did not occur within City limits or on City time. We are saddened that Mr. Jones’ lifetime of dedication to the City of Algood has been overshadowed by the reprehensible actions he is alleged to have committed. We have taken immediate steps to suspend Mr. Jones, without pay, under the City’s personnel policy, pending termination. This betrayal of public trust is as upsetting to all the City employees and leaders as it is to our citizens and does not reflect the dedication Algood employees provide our community every day. The investigation is still on-going, and any questions should be directed to the 13th Judicial District Attorney’s Office or the Cookeville Police Department.
