Monterey Aldermen approved access upgrades to the community’s T-Ball Field.
Aldermen accepted the low bid of some $93,000 to pave Callahan Road, Rose Avenue, and the street leading into the center. Mayor Mark Farley said the bid from Copeland DRP leaves the town some $70,000 in its budget for future road projects. He said he intends to have contractors add the cost of striping to the original bid to keep the city from having to bid that project out separately.
Farley said the city also received a bid of some $110,000 from Rogers Group that included striping, but he believes the selected bid will remain far less expensive, even once striping costs are added. He said the cost for recent striping on Crossville Street was only some $1,800.
