Cookeville Regional doing everything in its power to continue its operations and deliver the best care possible in the face of rising healthcare costs.
That according to CEO Paul Korth. Korth said rising costs are affecting hospitals nationwide.
“We’ll be holding on some of our capital purchases that we were planning on doing,” Korth said. “Just to make sure that we’ve got the adequate cash and the additive reserves that we need to make sure to do all the things clinically that we need to do.”
When it comes to hospital employees, Korth said the eliminated positions were ones the hospital looked at closely before making those changes. He said with 2,500 employees at the hospital, it is something they look at every day to keep tabs on its needs.
Korth said all of the people currently working at the hospital are needed, so they will be continuing to work to keep them.
