Young Re-Elected White County Board Chair

Bob Young will return as chair of the White County School Board for the new school year.

Board members re-elected Jayson McDonald as the board’s Vice-Chairman. Dewayne Howard was re-elected to be the board’s Tennessee Legislative Network Representative.

“That’s a tall task, so I appreciate the effort you’ve put into that,” Young said.

Howard asked if McDonald has a busy year in front of him that could interfere with his work as vice-chair, but McDonald said it should not be an issue.

“I haven’t had to do anything as far as chairman-wise here because Mr. Young has been so gracious about being here each meeting, so I don’t mind to serve again,” McDonald said.

Board Member Sherrie Stone asked if McDonald could be nominated to be the board chair, but McDonald said he wanted to decline the position.
