Wonderland Of Trees Event To Benefit Warren Hospice Patients

Caring Hearts United will hold its 13th annual Wonderland of Trees this week to provide hospice patients with much-needed items.

Co-founder Dianne Sneed said this event is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the Warren County-based group. Organizations, churches, and individuals are invited to bring decorated trees and other Christmas decor to be set up and auctioned off.

“You’ve been assigned to hospice, that’s not a good feeling,” Sneed said. “If we can bring a smile to their face and brighten their day, that’s what we want to do. We can take a load off if we can lift some of the struggle that they and their families are going through.”

Sneed said the proceeds cover things like hospital bed sheets, gas cards for patients who make frequent visits to the doctor and protein shakes for those who are no longer able to digest solid food. The event continues all week at McMinnville’s Three Star Mall.

“In the holidays, hearts are bigger than normal,” Sneed said. “All through the year and in any other activities and other fundraisers through the year, this is just our largest one for the year, hearts are big when you speak of hospice.”

Sneed said decorated wreaths, gingerbread houses, and any other homemade Christmas decor are welcome at the event. Sneed said all are invited to walk through the mall and place bids on the items with spotters present to alert people when they are outbid later in the week.

Items will be wrapped at the end of the week and available for pickup by winning bidders. Sneed also said there will be activities and entertainment all week.
