White Co Sheriff’s Office Responding To Several Wrecks

White County Sheriff’s Office reporting several vehicle wrecks as road conditions have quickly worsened from snowfall.

Sheriff Steve Page said roads are treacherous and encourages all motorists to stay home.

“We were on the mountain this morning and within 20 minutes the roads were wiped,” Page said. “So, you may get out and the road is clear, but you may not be able to get back home. If you can stay home, please stay home.”

Page said one vehicle has already over turned while driving on Highway 111. Another head on collision occurred along Hickory Valley Road. Page said motorists did not seem to have major injuries but have been transported to the emergency room.

“We’ve had one car roll over off Highway 111,” Page said. “We’ve had another one up here off of Hickory Valley Road a head on collision. Patients are being transported to the ER. Nothing seems to be major, but with vehicle accidents you never know.”

Page said more snow on the way heightens the need for people to stay home. Page said majority of backroads have been covered by snowfall.
