White Co. Parks And Rec Want Input Through Online Survey

White County Parks and Rec is seeking community input to help in the formation of its new master plan.

Landscape Architect Kevin Guenther works for the planning organization that is helping create the master plan. He said that it’s important that the people of White County tell them what they want and need, not the other way around.

“Part of it is the feedback on what we have now,” Guenther said. “Do you feel like it’s meeting your needs, are there places you feel like we need to focus some repairs, are there places where you’ve seen opportunities that nobody has really taken advantage of yet? And really the other part of that question is what do you want to see for the future?”

Guenther said that the survey asks about recreational experiences that community members would like to be brought to the county. He said that every city and every county is unique and that they want to make sure White County’s assets are used to the fullest extent.

“We’re not here to tell you what to do,” Guenther said. “We’re here to hear what you think, make sure we process that into the plan, give you our suggestions, and then come back and make sure those two things marry together for the future.”

Guenther said that they have not set a hard date for the survey closing, but they hope to get all the information they can between now and April. He said that they hope to have the master plan fully completed by August.
