The White County High School Marching Band is hosting a Pictures with Santa fundraising event this Saturday at Calfkillers Brewery.
Director Roger Mills said that community participation helps cover the last part of the tab of getting the band to the Outback Bowl He said that every dollar counts when it comes to supporting his students.
“With all the hours of work they put in over the years, and this will be a wonderful opportunity for some of them to go someplace where they may never get a chance to go again,” Mills said. “I don’t know if some of them will get a chance to see a beach again, depends on what their life will be after they graduate. But it hopefully is going to be one of those, once-in-a-lifetime experiences.”
Mills said that the owners of Calfkillers are parents of students in the band. He said that they offered the opportunity to the band to help with fundraising.
Mills said that photos will cost $15 apiece and that there will be ensemble student ensembles providing Christmas music entertainment.
