The White County Commission tabled a resolution Monday night that would allow out-of-county trash in its landfill cell.
Commissioner Derrick Hutchings motioned to send the resolution back to the solid waste committee. The motion passed with a vote of 13-0. According to the resolution, the idea behind the action would be to gain revenue from outside trash.
The landfill cell has been closed for several weeks. It has been under study as the county evaluated the need of opening a new cell.
In other business, Commissioner Robert McCormick was elected as commission chair. Commissioner Lanny Selby was appointed Vice Chair. Commissioner Dakota White fills the Parliamentarian role.
