Obituaries For Wednesday, July 17
Mr. Dennis (Denny) Keith Phillips, age 76, of Livingston, passed away Wednesday morning July 17, 2019 at his home. Denny was born December 3, 1942 in Crystal, IN to the late Brian and Opal Morgan Phillips. He is survived by his wife, Jane Roberts Phillips; son, Mark (Jan) Phillips of Indianapolis, IN; daughter, Michaela Phillips (Mark Steel) of Rockport, IN; two step-sons, Jack and Jeff Tucker; two brothers, Gordon (Loretta)Phillips of New Jersey, Donald (Gail) Woosley of South Carolina; two sisters, Janice (Steve) Chaffin of Celina, Dode (Kenny) Kunkle of Lebanon, IN; several grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister. Private services will be held at a later date.
Funeral services will be held for Mr. Timothy Dwain Capps, age 51 of Livingston, on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 10 AM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Okolona Cemetery in Overton Co., TN. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, July 17th starting at 5 PM until 9 PM. Officiating the service will be Bro. John Mabry. He passed away from this life at his residence on Monday, July 15, 2019. Mr. Timothy Dwain Capps was born in Livingston, Overton Co., TN on August 23, 1967 to B.C. Capps and the late Betty (Richardson) Capps. Timothy at the Chocolate Plant in Livingston until it closed out. Timothy was loved by his family very much and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services for Miss Laura Elizabeth Snodgrass, 87 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, July 18th at 11:00 a.m. at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Rob Wheeler will officiate. Private interment will follow at Crest Lawn Cemetery. Laura passed away Monday, July 15, 2019. Visitation will be Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
Funeral Services for Mrs. Marietta Gill Ledbetter, age 93, of Livingston will be conducted 2 p.m., Thursday, July 18, 2019 from the First United Methodist Church in Livingston, where her body will lie in repose from 1 until time of services at 2 p.m. Rev. Shelia Preacher and Rev. James Shenko will officiate. Burial will follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Marietta passed from this life on Wednesday morning, July 16, 2019 from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born in Dickson County, Tennessee to the late Henry Alex & Gertrude Garland Gill. Marietta was retired from the Overton County Co-Op, where she worked for over 25 years as a book keeper. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Livingston where she attended for over 65 years. Marietta loved her family dearly. She enjoyed watching golf, playing piano, singing in her church choir, reading and her books on tape. She was actively involved in the United Methodist Women, and served as an officer. Marietta leaves behind her daughter, Bobbye Moore & husband Ron of Livingston; son, David Ledbetter & wife Betty of Livingston; grandchildren, Jennifer Officer & husband Michael, David Ledbetter, Jr., Patty Dale & husband David, and Tamara Stocking & husband Lee, all of Livingston; great-grandchildren, Sam Officer & girlfriend McKenzie Shaw, Kate Officer, Rex Dale & wife Kirstie, and Adam Dale all of Livingston; sister-in-law, Brenda Gill of Burns; and 2 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Marietta was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Winson Ledbetter; 2 brothers, and 1 sister. The family will welcome friends on Wednesday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Old Zion Cemetery in Sparta. Tracy passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at her home. She was born in Sparta the daughter of James and Mable Martin. She was preceded in death by Father: James Martin of Sparta; Granparents: Cordell and Clara Holman and Adus and Dimple Martin. Survivors include: Mother: Mable Martin of Fanchers Mills Community, Sparta; Preceded in death by Father: James Martin of Sparta; Brother: Richard Martin and Wife Karen Martin, of Sparta; Sister: Debbie Martin Whiteaker and Husband Ed Whiteaker of FL; Aunt: Dot Randolph of Sparta; Aunt: Bobby Jean Langely of Cookeville; Niece: Jami Martin Hood and Husband Johnnie Hood of Sparta; Nephew: Aries Martin and Wife Jessica Martin of Cookeville; Nephew: Rance Martin of Sparta; Nephew: Martin Woodlee and Wife Tomoko Hattori of TX; Step-Nephew: Tim Whiteaker “Texas” and wife Joey Whiteaker of FL; a host of cousins and great nephews and nieces. Funeral services for Kenneth Wayne “Kenny” Roberson, age 65, of Cookeville will be held Friday, July 19th, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Kenny passed away Monday, July 15, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. He was born Thursday, February 11, 1954 in Monterey to the late Alvin Roberson and Lula Geneva Bohannon Roberson. Kenny will long be remembered for his love for his family and friends, and would do anything for anybody. He was a hard working man and loved being a Carpenter. In addition to his parents, Kenny was preceded in death by two sisters, infant, Mary Helen Roberson and Audrey Jean Roberson Parsons, and a brother, Jimmie Dean Roberson. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Lynda Sparks Roberson; step-daughter, Kimberly (Charles) Owens, and special grandson, Chuck Owens, all of Cookeville; sister, Glenda Roberson Smith of Cookeville; several nieces, nephews and other family and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 18, 2019, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Friday, July 19, 2019, 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home.

Burial will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville. She passed away on Tuesday, July 16, 2019, at Select Specialty Hospital in Powell. She was born September 6, 1949, in Fayetteville, to the late Curtis Roland and Della Wilma Thompson. She was married the late Oliver “Bucky” Parker. She owned a cleaning and janitorial service, and attended Life Church in Cookeville. Survivors include 1 Son: Oliver “Buddy” Parker of Cookeville; 3 Daughters: Della Conn of Gainesboro, Misty Parker of Cookeville, and Tamika Parker of Cookeville; 7 Grandchildren: Jeffrey Conn, Devin, Haley, Antonio, Makayla (Will) Ripley, O’Ryan and Gavin Parker; 2 Brothers: Curtis Roland of Gainesboro, and Randy Roland and wife, Beverly of Gainesboro; and 2 Sisters: Judy Hill of MI, and Freda Hager of Gainesboro. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services.
A Memorial Service for Lawrence “Larry” Irvine MacIntosh, 80 of Sparta, will be held at 3pm on Sunday, July 21, 2019 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Sparta with James Ferraro and Rodney Shewmake officiating. Larry passed away on Saturday, July 13, 2019, at his home. He was born Sunday, May 28, 1939. He loved Jehovah, nature, music, friends, and family. Survivors include: Wife- Carol MacIntosh of Sparta; Son- Lance MacIntosh (Sarah) of New York; Daughter- Leigh Brace (Bill) of New York; Granddaughter- Emaleigh Brace of New York; Sister- Helen White (Jerry) of New York; Step-Son- Edward Gabrielle (Debra) of Sparta; Step-Daughter- Anna Gernt (Art) of Florida; Step-Son- Anthony Gabrielle of Sparta; Step-Son- Marvin Blodgett (Christy) of Crossville; Step-Grandchildren- Zoe, Eden, Lisa, Sara, Richard, David, Elyssa, Dean, Raylin, and Alexis.
