Kimberly Ann Cole, age 60 of Sparta, passed away on Wednesday morning February 26, 2020 at her residence. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
Memorial services for Ralph Edward Hull, age 75, of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday February 26 at 6:00 pm at Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Pastor Ben Hull will officiate. Interment will be in the Paran Cemetery at a later date. He was born August 24, 1944 in Overton Co, TN to the late Cleo Ensley and Elizabeth Wright Hull. Mr. Hull attended The River Community Church. He was a residential builder and owned and operated Edward Hull and Sons Construction for over 50 years in the Cookeville area. If you ever had a chance to talk with him, you knew he worked hard and loved his family. He was especially proud of his nine grandchildren and was married to his sweetheart, Jessie Shelley, for nearly 45 years. The family is comforted that they are once again together in heaven. His family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 p.m. until time of the services. Mr. Hull passed away Saturday February 22, 2020 at his home. Funeral services for Ms. Barbara Marie Winnett Parrish, age 69 of Walling, will be conducted 1:00pm Thursday, February 27, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Indian Mound Cemetery. She passed away on Monday February 24, 2020 at her residence. Barbara was born July 19, 1950 in Sparta, to the late Roy Thomas “Tom” & Gladys Marie Parrish Winnett. Her work career included a few years at Mallory then she found her passion as a caregiver to kids and the elderly. She loved to travel to the beach and going to church singings. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by a sister Linda Dunn; infant brothers John Horace, David Micheal and Stephen Thomas Winnett. Survivors include her daughter Tammy Gongaware and husband Darrin; Son: David Randolph; Grandsons: Noah Randolph, Dakota Daniels and wife Kim, Austin Gongaware and Blake Gongaware; Great-grandchildren: Ella and James; Special niece thought of as a daughter: Misty Bell and husband John; Sister: Mary Hodge and husband Jack; Special friend: Regina Davis; Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends Thursday from 11:00am until service time at Hunter Funeral Home. She passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 in Cookeville, TN. She was born on June 11, 1964 to Herbert and Willowdean Dunn Dobbs in Sparta, TN. Feleshia loved sitting on the porch watching the creek. Funeral Services for Harold Taylor Gentry, age 82, of Cookeville, will be held Friday, February 28, 2020 beginning at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home, with Bro. Buddy Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Smith Chapel Cemetery. He passed from this life Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Life Care of Sparta. Harold was born Friday, October 15, 1937 in Cookeville. He was the son of Larry William and Tilda Mae (Lee ) Gentry. He was a member of Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. Harold graduated from Central High in Cookeville, in 1955. He also attended Tennessee Tech University, and served in The Tennessee National Guard. Harold was a loving and caring Husband, Father, Grandfather and friend to all who knew him. He loved his family, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with them and was always supportive in all their activities. He was a NASCAR fan for many years. He also took great pride in restoring his 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air, attending and judging antique car shows throughout the years. Harold is survived by his Wife, Agnes (Mason) Gentry of Cookeville; 1 Daughter: Deborah Gernt of Cookeville; 3 Grandchildren: Benjamin, Nicholas, and Abbye Gernt; 1 Niece: Angelita and Garland Robinson; 2 Nephews: Dr. Ronald and Aletha Wright; Randall and Carolyn Wright. In addition to his parents Harold was preceded in death by: 1 Sister and Brother-in-law, Sylvia and JT Wright., 1 Brother-in-law: James Knight and 1 Sister-in-law: Donna (Mason) Prichard. Officiating: Pastor Maston Jackson. She went to be with the Lord on February 24, 2020 at NHC of Cookeville. Lillie was born on May 2, 1931 to William Moses Prater and Emma Maynard Prater. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bethel Henry Davis; and her parents, William and Emma Prater. Lillie is survived by several cousins, and a special friend, Heather Myers. The family will accept visitors on Friday, February 28, 2020 from 10:00AM until 2:00PM
A Memorial Service for Mary Alice Long, 66 of Sparta, will be held at 1pm on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Doyle Church of the Nazarene with Tracy Curtis officiating. She passed away on Monday, February 24, 2020, at her home. She was born on Wednesday, June 10, 1953 in Doyle, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Unice Ward Simmons. Mrs. Mary liked sports, playing softball, and to dance. She loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death be her son, Edward Davis, and her sisters, Barbara Denton and Kay Simmons. Survivors include: Her loving Husband of 42 years- Jerry Long of Sparta; Daughter- Jennifer Lee (Charlie) of Sparta; Grandchildren- Dustin Bennett (Layna) and Austin Bennett of Sparta; Great-Grandchildren- Gavin Bennett, Ivy Bennett, Declan Bennett, Gwen Summers, Flissity Summers, and Alexander Bennett; Sister- Glenda Young (Gary Hopkins) of Spencer; Good Friend and Neighbor- Elly Conard; Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Graveside services for James A. Johnson, 73, of Gainesboro, will be held at 2 P.M. on Saturday, March 7, 2020, at the McCurry Cemetery in Burnsville, NC. The family has chosen cremation. He passed away on Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at his residence. He was born September 21, 1946, in Detroit, MI, to the late Aaron P. “Buck” Johnson and Irene Vickers Meadows. He was married to the late Wilma Johnson, who passed away March 7, 2014. He was factory worker, and attended the Spring Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by Brother: Gary Johnson. Survivors include 3 Daughters: Sandy (David) Stafford, Shawn Edna (Anthony) Durham, and Misty (Robert) Chaffin, all of Gainesboro, TN; 7 Grandchildren: Victoria (Dustin) Head, James Pitman, Wilson Durham, Lilly Chaffin, Emma Chaffin, Bella Chaffin, and CeCe Chaffin; 1 Great Grandchild: David Reed Head; and 1 Brother: Bob Johnson of Gainesboro, TN. Graveside Services for Paul Garrison, age 81 of Cookeville will be held March 28, 2020 at Boma Cemetery. He passed from this Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born Monday, March 28, 1938 in Gainesboro, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Vestel and Annie (Ramsey) Garrison. Paul was a Machinist and retired from Clawson, Michigan. The family has chosen cremation.
