Was Born On July 27, 1972, In Livingston, Tennessee, To The Late Rita Joyce Allred Phillips And Willis James Smith Of Celina, Tennessee. Ms. Floyd Passed Away On Sunday, April 19, 2020, At Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Ms. Floyd Was A Very Loving And Passionate Grandmother That Took Great Pride In Her Grandchildren. She Was An Excellent Hair Stylist, A Homemaker, Considered Humble And A Good Friend To Anyone She Met. She Was A Member Of The Monterey Wesleyan Church. She Is Survived By Her Lifelong Partner, Pat Floyd Of Monterey, TN; 2 Daughters And 1 Son-In-Law, Toni And Richard Everett Of Ocoee, FL, Sloane Floyd Of Monterey, TN; 1 Son, Cole Floyd Of Monterey, TN; 2 Grandchildren, Kashdon Floyd And Paisley Everett; 2 Sisters, Amy Stevens Of Cookeville, TN, Becky Blalock Of Cookeville, TN; 1 Brother, Timmy Smith Of Burkesville, KY; She Was Raised By Dexter Phillips Of Monterey, TN. Mrs. Lela Mae Terrell Summers, age 92 of Sparta, passed away Monday evening April 20, 2020 at Life Care Center of Sparta. Mrs. Summers was born July 6, 1927 in Smithville, Tennessee to the late John Haskell & Arlena Ashburn Terrell. She was a retired secretary for the Tennessee Department of Human Services. She enjoyed traveling the country alongside her late husband in their R.V. and being on Center Hill Lake but her true joy was her family. Lela was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Sparta. Surviving family members include her daughter Kay Farley and husband David; Daughter-in-law: Nancy Summers; Grandchildren: Kristen Farley, Michael Farley and wife Allison, Andy Verble and Steven Summers; Great-grandchildren: Zoey Verble, Drew Verble, Eli Verble, Henry Farley; Two sisters: Betty Moss and Nell Medley; Several nieces and nephews also survive. In honor of Mrs. Summers wishes a private graveside service will be conducted at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Randall Kirby will officiate.
Loretta Harville, age 91, of Cookeville passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville, surrounded by her family. Born Thursday, June 21, 1928 to Lewis and Allie (Countiss) Gentry, she was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church. She loved quilting and doing jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by her daughters, Rose Marie (Graham) Sexton of Knoxville, TN and Vickie Loftis of Cookeville, TN, sister, Bessie Griner of Cookeville, TN, three grandchildren, Tyler Sexton, Erica Loftis Martinez and Blake Loftis, one step-grandson, Stoney Ford and three great-grandchildren, Mia Martinez, Amelia Martinez and Annabelle Loftis. She was preceded in death by her husband William “Skip” Harville, daughter Zora Kay Harville, step daughter, Joyce Ford, three brothers, Johnny Gentry, George Gentry, Harvey Gentry and two sisters, Mary Gentry Bryant and Ruth Gentry. Private Family Graveside service will take place @ Odd Fellow Cemetery Baxter TN with Clayton Lee officiating. No visitation will be held at this time.
Arlene Frances Keckler, 89, of Sparta, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 in Cookeville. Mrs. Keckler was born on April 03, 1931 in Adrian, Michigan to the late William and Cora Parker Springer. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the family will hold a Celebration of Life for Mrs. Keckler at a later date.
Graveside services for Mr. Harold Gene Ayers, 79, of Hilham, will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, April 23, 2020, at the New Hope Cemetery in the New Hope community of Jackson County, TN. There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home. He passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020, at Signature Health Care in Algood, TN. He was born December 1, 1940, in Overton County, TN, to the late Elmer Mitchell Ayers and Bessie Fisk Ayers. On February 1, 1968, he was married to Opal Dean Ramsey Ayers, who survives. He was a retired tool and die maker, and a member of the New Hope Community Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his Wife: Opal Dean Ramsey Ayers of Hilham, TN; 1 Son: Jeff (Melinda) Ayers of Hilham, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Ethan Ayers and Sarah Ayers, both of Hilham, TN; and 2 Sisters: Faye Anderson and Brenda (Jack) Buck, all of Livingston, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
