Obituaries For Monday, March 25

Funeral services for Mrs. Lou Ester Murphy Dishman, age 100 of Sparta, will be conducted 2:00pm Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Big Springs Cemetery. Mrs. Dishman passed away Monday evening, March 25, 2019 at her residence. Mrs. Dishman was born September 2, 1918 in Livingston to the late Willie & Lily Murphy. She was a retired shirt factory worker. When she was was not sewing at work, she was sewing and quilting at home. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Hershel Dishman; children Bobby Dishman, Otis Dishman; grandchildren Jack Simmons, Randy Geer; three sisters and two brothers. Survivors include her three daughters Betty Simmons, Bonnie Geer and Anna Ruth Williams; Sons: Donald Dishman and Ronald Dishman; Thirteen grandchildren; A host of great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Wednesday from noon until service time at Hunter Funeral Home. John Lawson will officiate.

Funeral services for Mrs. Isabel “Buford” Garrett, age 102 of Allons, will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 2 PM from the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the G.P. Garrett Cemetery located on there family farm. Mrs. Garrett passed away at her residence on Sunday evening, March 24, 2019. Mrs. Isabel Buford Garrett was born in Allons on April 24, 1916. Mrs. Garrett was a school teacher for 40 plus years and was known by all the school children as Granny Garrett. She was a member of the Allons Church of Christ. Survivors: 1 Son and Daughter In-law: Paul Martin and Eula Garrett; 1 Brother: Edward Buford and his wife Betty; 1 Sister: Billie Stone and her husband Bobby; 2 Grandsons: Mark Crowther and his wife Brooke, Stephen Crowther; 3 Granddaughers: Cynthia Leddy and her husband Steve, Pauletta Brady and her Husband Roger, Margie Cavender and her husband Tim; 6 Great Grandchildren and 8 Great-Great Grandchildren, along with a host of family and friends and many school children. Preceded in death: Mother: Jennie (Overstreet) Buford; Father and Step-Mother: Clarence and Nannie Buford; Husband: Grady Paul Garrett; Daughter and Son-In-law: Jennie and Robert Crowther; 2 Brothers: Clark Buford, John T. Buford; 3 Sisters: Launa Stone, Lavelle Buford, Wynelle Roylston. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening, March 26, 2019 starting at 4 PM until 9 PM. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers please make donations to the Allons Elementary School Library or the Happy Haven Children’s Home by contacting the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Linda (Tackitt) Price, 60 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at 2:00 PM from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Hill officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Linda passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Linda was born Wednesday, March 26, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Roy Lee and Jamie Helen (Ramsey) Tackitt. Linda was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, nanny, and sister. Linda is survived by: Husband: Everette Price; 5 Children: Anni Hope and Tim Smith, Butch, Rusty, and Jimmy Price, and Kim Price; 3 Sisters: Brenda and Verse Vaughn, Renell and Chris Upchurch, and Gail and Dennis Lohman; Grandchildren: Tyler Ashburn-Griffith and Lindsay Griffith, Christian, Ashten, and Maddison Smith; A host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by: Daughter, Brandy Lee Griffith. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 26, 2019 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 from 12:00 pm until time of service at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral Services For Norma Jean Phipps Blaylock, Age 79, Of Rickman, Tennessee, Will Be Conducted On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, At 3:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Pastor Roger Cooper Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Harris Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Blaylock Was Born On December 22, 1939, In Livingston, Tennessee, To The Late John And Genivia Honeycutt Phipps. Mrs. Blaylock Passed Away On Saturday, March 23, 2019, At The Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Blaylock Was A Factory Worker. She Was A Member Of One-Eleven Fellowship In Rickman, Tennessee. She Is Survived By Her Sister, Anna Fay White Of Monterey, TN; 2 Brothers And Sisters-In-Law, Clifford And Sara Phipps Of Algood, TN, Danny And Janice Phipps Of Monterey, TN; 3 Step Sons, Timothy Blaylock Of Crossville, TN, Terry Blaylock Of Crossville, TN, Greg (And Sue) Blaylock Of Crossville, TN; And Several Other Family Members And Friends. In Addition To Her Parents, She Was Preceded In Death By Her Husband, James Edward (Jim) Blaylock; And A Brother, Randle Phipps. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Wednesday, March 27, 2019, From 1:00 PM Until Time Of Services At 3:00 PM.

Funeral services for Willard Vaughn, Jr., age 75 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, March 28, 2019 beginning at 11:00 AM from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. John Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Willard passed from this life Monday, March 25, 2019, at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. He was born Thursday, March 23, 1944 in Cookeville, He was the son of the late Willard Vaughn, Sr. and the late Florene (Harville) Vaughn. Willard was a loving Husband, Father, and Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and friend to all that knew him. He attended Lakenheath High School in Lakenheath England and graduated Cookeville High School in 1963. Willard retired from Kroger as Grocery Manager after 41 years of employment. He loved the Putnam County Fair and was on the fair board for 7 years. He was a member of AQHA, TQHA, and enjoyed showing in Tennessee and other states. He is survived by his wife: Miriam (Jones) Vaughn from Petersboro, England whom he married June 17, 1963 at Pippin Church of Christ. 1 Daughter and Spouse: Julie (Vaughn) Thompson and Husband, Dr. Maben Thompson of Crossville; 1 Son and Spouse: Danny Ray Vaughn and Wife Angie of Cookeville; Grandchildren and Spouses: Mercedes and Jake Johnson, Cameron Thompson, Jordan Thompson, Tanner Vaughn and Lindsey Ritenour, Britny and Devin Wright; Great Grandchildren: Willa Masyn, Kendall, Kai, and Beau. Pastor Elijah Smith Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Cooper Was Born On January 9, 1956, In Monterey, To The Late Claude And Beulah Vaughn Cooper. Mr. Cooper Passed Away On Sunday, March 24, 2019, At His Brother’s Home. Mr. Cooper Worked With McCord, Stillmans, Cumberland Container, Delbar And With Putnam County Sherriff’s Department. He Was A 1975 Graduate Of Rickman High School. He Is Survived By, 5 Sisters And 3 Brothers-In-Law, Wanda And Larry Lane Of Monterey, Judy Dial Of Rickman, Vicky And Benny Presley Of Monterey, Dimple And Jim Kollmorgen Of Monterey, Debbie McCormick Of Monterey; 1 Brother, Billy Cooper Of Monterey; 1 Brother-In-Law, Bobby Beaty Of Rickman; Several Nieces, Nephews And Other Family Members. In Addition To His Parents, He Was Preceded In Death By 2 Sisters, Sandy Beaty And Connie Smith; 2 Brothers-In-Law, Roger Dial And Marson McCormick; And Niece, April Nicole Hinson. A Celebration of Life Service for Mr. Gary Levon Seibers, age 67 of Quebeck, will be held from 10am until 2pm on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Quebeck Community Center. Gary passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019 at NHC in Sparta. He was born November 5, 1951 in Sparta. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Lee and Mable Bernice Hutson Seibers; sisters, Etta Ruth Seibers Dailey and Linda Frank Seibers Smart. He is survived by: Sons- Gary Levon Seibers Jr. (Bobbie) of Sparta, Steven Seibers of Sparta, Jamie Seibers of Sparta; Several granchildren also survive; Brothers- Harold Seibers of Quebeck, Carl Seibers of Sparta, Jerry Seibers (Betty) of Walling, Dwight Seibers (Helen) of Quebeck, Troy Seibers of Quebeck; Sisters- Joyce Matheney of Sparta, Anna Seibers of Livingston, Rhonda Seibers of Quebeck. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
