Laura Thompson Vaden, age 92, of Nashville, formerly of Arbyrd, MO passed away Monday, June 8, 2020. She graduated from Blue Mountain College and Southwestern Baptist Seminary in Ft. Worth, TX. She worked in Religious Education for many years at Southern Baptist churches and retired from Lifeway Book Stores in 2011. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church. She was proceeded in death by husband: Vernon L. Vaden on December 30, 2016; parents E. S. and Ann L. Thompson, brother, Spencer Thompson. Survivors: stepdaughter, Jan (Greg) Parman, stepsons, Mike (Claudia) and Patrick (Patricia) Vaden, grandchildren Jody (Michael) Wrather, Michelle (Lane) Dixon, Ryan (Madison) Vaden and Nick Parman. Because of the current pandemic situation, a traditional service will not be possible. Family will have private graveside service at Whittaker Cemetery in Monterey. Funeral services for Mrs. Rhoda Martin, age 86 of the Dodson Branch Community, will begin at Wednesday 12 PM at Dyer Funeral Home with David Harris officiating. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. She passed away Sunday June 7, 2020 at her home. She was born February 27, 1934 in Teges, KY to the late Albert Byrd and Sara Hacker Byrd. Rhoda was a member of Dodson Branch Southern Baptist Church. She retired from DIMCO Gray Corporation in Dayton, OH with over 30 years of service. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa (Jason) Looper of Monterey, TN; brothers, Clarence Byrd of Dayton, OH, Hobert Byrd of Lebanon, OH, Millard (Darlene) Byrd of Lebanon, OH; one sister, Ida Smith of Dayton, OH; grandchildren, Heather (Ian) Stewart, Alaz Looper (Summer Norrod), Hunter Looper, Arrow Looper; great grandchild, Zala Looper; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to come by Dyer Funeral Home to sign the guest book and pay their respects Wednesday, June 10th from 10 AM to 12 PM.

Funeral services for Kenneth Standifer, age 68 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday June 10 at 1 p.m. at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday June 11 at Johnson Lewis Cemetery in Dunlap, TN. Friends are invited to come by the church to sign the guest book and pay their respects on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until service time. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. He passed away suddenly Monday morning June 8, 2020 at his home.

Graveside Service for Kenneth Grogan, age 76 of Boma, will be held Wednesday, Junes 10th , 2020, at 1:PM at Odd Fellows Cemetery with Brother Sterl Peamore officiating. Interment will follow in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. He passed from this life on Friday, June 05, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville, Tennessee. Kenneth was born on Tuesday, June 08, 1943 to the late Eliza Grogan and the late Andrew Grogan. Kenneth is survived by his wife Adell Grogan, Cookeville TN And two daughters: Kathy (Mike) Yeargan and Margie Writtenberry. Six Grandchildren; Shawna Smith, Courtney Vandergrift, Chad Moore, Juan Pineda, Jamie Jimenez, Daveaughn Jeminez and a sister in law Marcella Goodman.

Funeral services for Glenous Haney, 84, of the Center Grove community of Jackson County, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Young Cemetery on Seven Knobs Road in Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 10 A.M. – 8 P.M., and Wednesday from 10 A.M. until time of services. He passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2020, at his residence. He was born January 9, 1936, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Johnny Whad Haney and Lizzie Jane Chaffin Haney. On May 5, 1956, he was married to Lorene Haney, who survives. He was a carpenter, and a member of the Center Grove Church of Christ.

Celebration of Life Gathering for Mr. Tony Ross Long, age 70, of Cookeville, will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2020 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Barn at Bilbrey’s Crossing, at 119 Rickman Monterey Hwy, Cookeville, TN 38506. Bro. Kenny Walker will officiate. Everyone is welcomed to come by and share your favorite stories about Tony.Mr. Tony Long passed from this life on Saturday evening, June 6, 2020 from the Tristar Southern Hills Hospital in Nashville. He was born in Cookeville, Tennessee on March 17, 1950 to the late Herman Ray, and Docia Dimple Watson Long. Tony was a 1968 graduate of Cookeville High School. He enjoyed Fishing, and repairing furniture. Tony truly loved life and he always had a good time no matter what he was doing. Tony leaves behind his son, Russell Long & wife Robin of Rickman, TN; daughters, Tonya Harvey, and Ronda Hale of Nashville, TN; step-son, Jay Tabor of Paducah, KY; grandchildren, Gracie Harvey, Jalyssa Hale, Savannah Cowen, Zakiya Cullom, Rheachel Long, and Jordan Murphy; brothers, Steve Long, Tommy Long, Billy Long, and Perry Long; sister, Bonnie Long.

Funeral services for Mrs. Gladys Marie Phy, age 67 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday June 11 at 1 p.m. at the chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. She died Sunday June 7, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Friends are invited to come by the funeral home to sign the guest book and pay their respects on Wednesday from 2:00 until 5:00 p.m. again Thursday from 11 a.m. until service time. Funeral services for Pamela Jean Fox, age 60 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, June 11, 2020 beginning at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Fox and Bro. Mike Fox officiating. Interment will be in Shipley Cemetery, Cookeville. She passed from this life Sunday, June 7, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Wednesday, January 6, 1960 in Cookeville, Tennessee. She was the daughter of Eula Mae (Riddle) Fox and the late Freeman Paul Fox. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, and Sister. She was a member of Pippin Church of Christ. She enjoyed camping, going to the beach, riding her bike and spending time with her Grandchildren. She has been a caregiver for her Mother for many years. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday June 10, from 4 until 8 pm and again on Thursday from 12 noon until time of service at 2:00 pm.

Funeral services for Mr. William “Bill” Myers Eldridge, age 93 of Dayton, Ohio, and formerly of Overton County, will be conducted 10 am Friday, June 12th, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston. Burial will be in the Overton County Memorial Gardens with military honors provided at graveside by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will welcome friends on Thursday evening from 5 until 8 pm at Speck Funeral Home. Mr. Eldridge passed away on June 7, 2020, of natural causes at the age of 93 at Brighton Gardens Assisted Living facility under the care of Hospice of Dayton. Bill was born on September 21, 1926 to the late Joe Wheeler and Etta (Bilbrey) Eldridge of Livingston, Tennessee. Bill worked at Delco Products in Dayton, Ohio for 30 years until he retired in 1977. Bill was a World War II veteran and a Master Mason for over 65 years with Solar Lodge #730. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and life member of the Milton Athletic Club. Bill loved fishing, hunting, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Mr. Eldridge is survived by his 2 sons; Joe David and late wife Kathleen Eldridge of Dayton, Ohio, and Floyd Dale (Erin) Eldridge of Lebanon, Ohio. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren; David (Rebecca) Eldridge, Stephen (Rachel) Eldridge, Lisa (Benito) Torres (Eldridge), Patrick (Hannah) Eldridge, and Kevin (Abby) Eldridge, and 12 great grandchildren; Scarlett, Miriam, William, Solomon, Keegan, Persephone, Donovan, Gwendolyn, Eleanor, Jack, Nora, and Amelia. He is also survived by his sister in law Colleen Eldridge.

Funeral services for J.R. “Junebug” Scott age 61 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, June 12, 2020, beginning at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Interment will be in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. He passed from this life Monday, June 8, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born Saturday, July 26, 1958, in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Willie C. and Pauline (Allen), Scott. J.R. was a loving Father, Grandfather, Brother, and friend to all who knew him. He was retired from the Putnam County Sheriffs Department after 20 years of service. He loved his family, especially spending time with his Grandkids, law enforcement, music, and riding his Harley Davidson. He is survived by: 1 Daughter and Son-in-law: Jamie and Kent Ashburn of Cookeville; 3 Sons and Daughters-in-law: Josh Scott and Fiancé, McKaya Rittenberry of Baxter; Matthew and Amanda Scott of Cookeville; Cody Scott and Fiancé, Olivia Sliger of Cookeville; 7 Grandchildren; 1 Sister and Brother-in-law: Jimmy and Sandy Westmoreland of Cookeville; 1 Brother and Sister-in-law: Bill and Kathy Scott of Whitehouse. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Carol Scott Pippin, 1 Infant Brother. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, June 11, 2020, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and again Friday from 11:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with final expenses.

Celebration of Life Gathering for William “Mike” Michael McManus, 69 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, June 13, 2020, from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. He passed away on Monday, June 8, 2020, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville. Mike was born Friday, April 27, 1951, in Great Lakes, Illinois. Mike was a loving Husband, Father, Gpa, and Papa. He was a Teamster truck driver for 35 plus years. When Mike retired from truck driving, he became a handyman which he really enjoyed. He was an avid hunter, fishermen, enjoyed riding his red Honda Goldwing motorcycle, and loved to two-step with his wife. Mike is survived by, Wife Dorene McManus; Daughter, Melanie McManus and Jerome Martinek; Son, Matthew McManus; 3 Grandchildren, Brock Larson, Daria Larson, and Logan McManus Brother-In-Law Gary Waters; Special Nieces, Amber and Steve Drier and their children, Hannah and Lucy and Tiffany and Sawyer Butterfield and their children, Ella and Wesley. Mike was preceded in death by his Brother From Another Mother, David White.
