Mr. Floyd Rinehart age 95 of Cookeville died Monday July 20 at Heritage Pointe Assisted Living. Arrangements are incomplete.
Earl Serguis Riis, 87 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Life Care Center of Sparta. He was born Thursday, May 4, 1933 in Warsaw, Poland, he was the son of the late Serguis and Elzbieth Frackievice Riis. Mr. Earl enjoyed baseball and spending time with his family. Survivors include Daughter Kathy Clendennon (Eddie) of Campaign, TN; Son Andy Riis (Danielle) of Walling, TN. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
Lloyd Bruce Lamson, 63 of Brush Creek, Tennessee passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born Wednesday, August 1, 1956 in Baltimore, Maryland, he was the son of the late Howard and Betty Morris Lamson. Survivors include sons David Lamson of Cookeville, TN and Steven Lamson of Cookeville, TN. A service will be held at a later date.
Graveside services and interment for Rita Lee Pickard, age 89 of Cookeville, will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday July 22 at Algood City Cemetery. Due to COVID-19 precautions, social distancing measures will be observed. Rita passed away Sunday afternoon July 19, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for William (Bill) Cecil Matheney, age 62 of Hixon and formerly of Baxter, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday July 22 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Dr. David McNabb will officiate. Interment will follow at Odd Fellows Cemetery. His family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 – 7 p.m. and again Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time. Due to COVID-19 precautions, social distancing measures will be observed.
Funeral services for Hazel U-Vonna Heady Norris, age 83 of Sparta, will be conducted 1:00pm Wednesday, July 22, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home in Sparta. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8:00pm and Wednesday from 11:00am until service time at 1:00pm. Jonathan Angel will officiate. She was born May 31, 1937 in Sparta, TN. She passed away peacefully in her home on July 17, 2020 in Sparta, TN. She was a strong, Christian woman who lived by the Word of God, loved her family dearly and melted at the sound of her grandchildren and great grandchildren’s laughter. Vonna enjoyed gardening, tending to her goats, and finding good yard sales. She was a member of Robinson Chapel Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services for Norma Pearl Evans Roach, age 93, of Cookeville will be held on Wednesday at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Bro. Ronald Strong Will officiate. The burial will follow in the Algood Cemetery. She was known as Nanny to those who loved her dearly, she enjoyed working in her flower gardens, sewing, laughing with friends and dancing at the Senior Citizens Center. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially her two granddaughters whom she lovingly referred to as “my girls”. Her love, compassion, sassy and kindness will be forever missed. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Wednesday from 12:00pm until time of services at 2:00pm.

Clarence passed from this life into the presence of his Lord on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at Life Care Center of Sparta.
Graveside Services for Steven “Steve” Wayne Denton, 71 of Cookeville, will be held Thursday, July 23, 2020 with Bros. Joel Hillis and Roy Johnson officiating. Steve was a loving son, husband, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend. He attended Antioch Church of Christ for many years and was very faithful. He loved walking horses, attending horse shows, and participating in the showing of the horses. Steve and Jean were known to be a loving couple who were always at each others side. He was known for his giving heart, always helping and serving others when he knew there was a need. Steve was loved by all that knew him and he will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

She was born June 12, 1943 in Cobb Hill, KY and she passed away on Saturday, July 18, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center at the age of 77. She was the daughter of Lonnie and Sarah Susan Watson Lee. She was a LPN. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital by contacting the funeral home.
