Funeral Arrangements Are Incomplete For Lucille Phipps, Age 91, Of The Mineral Springs Community Of Monterey. Mrs. Phipps Passed Away On Tuesday, February 11, 2020, At The Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Charlie Mae Cooper, 93 of Sparta, Tennessee passed away on Monday, February 10, 2020, at Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital in Sparta. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.
Billy Donaho Medley, age 78, of Baxter, passed away into heaven Monday evening February 10, 2020 at his home. He was born May 16, 1941 in Silver Point to the late Doss and Edna Whitehead Medley. Billy was a salesman by trade. He enjoyed family, gardening, walking, and talking to people. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Zella Louise Potter Medley, whom he married November 16, 1963 in Trenton, GA; four sisters, Martha Medley Bruce Bryant of Baxter, Jewel Medley Martin of Allons, TN, Rachel Medley Schmidt of Canton, IL, and Jessie Medley Brewington Countryman of Cookeville; one brother, Omer Medley (wife, Patty) of Villa Rica, GA; and several nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Roland Dean Medley; sister, Tavia Medley Sexton; and brother, Eddie Hubert Medley. Billy requested cremation and no services are planned. His cremated remains will be interred at Carlen Cemetery.
Funeral services for Mrs. Bertie Smith Davidson, age 89 of Livingston, will be held on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at 10 AM from the chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. She passed away at Livingston Regional Medical Center on Sunday Night February 9, 2020. Mrs. Bertie Smith Davidson was born in Overton Co., TN on March 4, 1930 to the late Luther Harris and Belle (Brown) Harris. Mrs. Bertie is loved and will be missed by many. Survivors include one son Ronnie Smith from Crossville; 3 Step-son: Lewis Davidson, James Davidson, Chuck Davidson; Step-daughter: Kathy Davidson, Louise Franklin, Jennifer Davidson. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 4 PM to 8 PM. Officiating will be Bro. Bobby Roberts.
Funeral services for Roy Douglas Stafford, 81 of White County, are at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 12 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Bob Scoggins and Bro. David Williams officiating with visitation from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11. He departed this life peacefully and surrounded by his family in his home on Sunday, Feb. 9. Mr. Stafford was a resident of the Cassville community in White County, where he had lived since the age of 7. He was born on Sept. 20, 1938 in Jackson County. Mr. Stafford was the second of six children born to Lando G. Stafford and Ruby (McCoin) Stafford, both of whom preceded him in death. His sister, Janice Hutson, died in March 2019. He married on Dec. 20, 1958 and is survived by his wife, Mary (Hudson). He also leaves two sons, Jeff (Sherrie) and Jack (Carrie), all of Sparta, his daughter, Gina (Bill Phelps), of Chattanooga; grandchildren John Douglas (J.D.) Stafford (Ashley), Bridgette (Brent Lawson); and twin great-grandsons, Malcolm and David Lawson, age 8, all of Sparta. He also is survived by his sisters, Joyce Broyles of Sparta, Charlotte Tays (Clarence Jr.) of Cookeville; and brothers, Garvis, of McMinnville, and Gary (Wanda), of Sparta. Mr. Stafford was a 1957 White County High School graduate who served with the Tennessee Army National Guard from 1957 to 1963. He was a longtime dairy and beef cattle farmer before going into business as a general contractor and eventually starting a pipeline construction company. He was a member of the Tennessee Farm Bureau for more than 60 years and, prior to his retirement from full-time farming, was a member of the board of the White County Soil Conservation District for the Tennessee Department of Agriculture. He served two terms as a member of the board of directors of the DeWhite Utility District in the 1990s. Throughout his life, Mr. Stafford enjoyed returning to his birthplace and childhood home in Jackson County to research family and community history. In retirement, he became an avid vegetable gardener and established an orchard of more than two-dozen fruit trees. He was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ.

She passed from this life Sunday, February 9, 2020, at her home. She was born Saturday, November 18, 1972, in Anderson, Indiana, she was the daughter Marjorie (Melton) Whidby and the late Donnie Hummel. Kim was a loving Mother, Daughter, Sister, and friend to all who knew her. She loved Cross Stitching, Crocheting and Cooking. She is survived by: Mother: Marjorie (Melton) Whidby of Algood; 1 Son: John Isaac Byers of Algood; 1 Sister and Brother-in-law: Jennifer and Jacob Kutz of Algood. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. She passed from this life Monday, February 10, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Wednesday, June 10, 1942 in Gainesboro. She was the daughter of the late Sarah Allen. Sue is survived by: 1 Sister: Jean Waites of Cookeville; 1 Sister-in-law: Maymie Allen of Cookeville; 2 Nephews: Donell Allen of Cookeville, Ricky Allen of Cookeville; A special cousin and caretaker: Karen Allen of Cookeville. In addition to her Mother, Sue was preceded in death by: 2 Brothers: Harold and Deloie Allen, and 1 Nephew: Jimmy Allen. He was born Monday, January 24, 1944 in Baxter to the late Lawrence Clifford Moss and Ruby Maxwell Moss. He loved to farm, and everyone knew him for his “green thumb” in the garden. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda Moss; 2 sons, Jason C. Moss and his wife, Jamie and Patrick Moss and his wife, Suzie, all of Cookeville; 6 grandchildren, Kori Moss, Ethan Moss, Emily Moss, Colton Elrod, Brittany Tollet, and Camdyn Tollet; great-grandson, Lincoln Charles Bean; brother, Dewey E. Moss and his wife Daisy of Baxter, Tennessee; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Treca Grey Jones Johnson, age 91 of Walling, will be held on Friday, February 14 at Spring Hill Baptist Church at 11:00 a.m. with interment following in the church cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Mrs. Johnson will lie in state from 9:00am until service time Friday at the church. died on Monday, February 10, 2020. Treca was born February 14, 1928 in Warren County to Alva and Velma Schrock Jones. Treca worked many years as a teacher’s aide at Central View School in Walling, but the full-time job she most excelled at was as a wife and mother. She was the model of a Southern lady: gentle, soft-spoken, patient, compassionate, and tough as nails. Treca devoted her life to her family, especially to the care of her daughter, Wanda. Later in life she adopted many friends and family as honorary grandchildren. She was everybody’s Ma. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Titus Burl Johnson; her daughter, Sheila Joan Aytes; her son, Troy Burl Johnson; sister Gwendoline Jones Pelham and brother-in-law H.T. “Zeke” Pelham, brother Royce Darwin Jones and sister-in-law Shirley Adcock Jones, brother-in-law Jerry Lynn, sister-in-law Anne Jones, and nieces Gayla Pelham Whitlock, Lisa Lynn Abbott, and Jeanne Pelham Roller. Treca is survived by her daughter, Wanda Joyce Johnson; three grandchildren: Jason (Kate) Aytes, Ryan Aytes, and Whitney (Matthew) Burkhalter; three great-grandchildren Mackenzie Aytes, Cooper Aytes, and Jordan Aytes; siblings: Idell (Gene) West, Lane Jones, and Jane (Bob) Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pat’s family will receive friends Thursday from 5 p.m until 8 p.m. at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services at the church. Pat died Sunday morning, February 9th at 8:41 a.m. at her home.

His spiritual brother, Ron Cabral, will be the speaker at his memorial service. Everyone is welcome to attend. He passed away on Friday, February 7, 2020, peacefully in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loved ones. Tony loved fishing, hunting, farming, working in his garden, and sharing the fruits of his labor with others. Even though Matilta was mean, he loved his cow. He was an active member of the congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He is preceded in death by his Parents, Tony and Florence Jellinich; Brother, Richard; Son, Richard; and Great-Grandson, Blake. Survivors include: Wife of 58 years- Violette; Children- Daughter-in-Law, Connie, Karla (Scott), Tonya (Steve), Coriena (Ted), Jody (Derick), and Joe; 15 Grandchildren, 27 Great-Grandchildren, 3 Brothers, and 1 Sister.

He passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at NHC of Sparta, TN. He was born in McMinnville, TN on September 08, 1935 to the late Robert and Allene Rogers Dodson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his; Wife: Alice Marie Dodson.
