Obituaries For Tuesday, December 10

Kevin Michael Mollahan, 52 of Baxter, Tennessee and formerly of Temple City, California, and Topeka, Kansas passed from this life on Sunday, December 8, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Kevin was born Wednesday, April 26, 1967, in San Gabriel, California and he was the son of the late William West Mollahan and Maria Carmen (Urquidi) Mollahan. Kevin had a passion for the Lord and loved to share that passion with anyone he met and his outreach was worldwide. He was a loving and caring son, brother, and uncle. Kevin loved working with animals and had a special place in his heart for black bears. Kevin is survived by, Mother, Carmen Mollahan, Sister Kathleen Manganaro and husband Bill; Brother, Matthew Mollahan and Wife, Renee; Nephew, Jacob Manganaro, Nieces, Faith Manganaro, Zoe, Sadie-Paige, and Abigail Mollahan. Kevin chose cremation, the family followed his wishes, and a Celebration of his Life will be held at a later date at Midway Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Wright officiating.

Funeral services for Mrs. Geraldine Conner, age 90 of Cookeville, will be held Wednesday, December 11th at 11am in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Rev. Bill Stone will officiate. Her family will receive friends Wednesday from 9am until service time at the funeral home. Graveside services and interment will be held Thursday, December 12th at 10:30am at Fairview Cemetery in Bowling Green, KY. Mrs. Conner died Sunday December 8, 2019 at Heritage Pointe Senior Living in Cookeville. She was born July 24, 1929 in Irvine, KY to the late Marcus and Anna Witt Scrivner. She earned her bachelors degree in Elementary Education from Western Kentucky State (now Western Kentucky University) and her masters degree from Tennessee Tech University. Mrs. Conner began her teaching career at the former Tech Campus school where she taught from 1968-1976. She then moved to Sycamore Elementary where she taught 2nd grade until her retirement in 1994. Geraldine had a special rapport with children and her students were drawn to her magnetic personality. Mrs. Geraldine loved people and was a lifelong and avid reader. She was an rabid Kentucky Wildcat basketball and Tennessee Volunteer football fan. She has been a faithful and dedicated member of Cookeville First Baptist Church since moving to Cookeville in 1968. Memorial contributions are suggested and may be made to Cookeville Pregnancy Clinic, 714 N Dixie Ave., Cookeville, TN 38501 and/or Cookeville First Baptist Church, 19 S Walnut Ave., Cookeville, TN 38501.

The Funeral Service for Gary Turner, 67, of Sparta, will be Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 4:30 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Brad Walker officiating. Gary passed away at home Saturday, December 07, 2019. Gary was born in Crossville on Friday, April 25, 1952 to the late Noah C. Turner and Verna Copeland Welch. Gary loved to hunt and fish whenever he could. He was a longtime member of Woodmen Life. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Sparta, TN. Gary loved his church family well. Most of all, he loved his wife and family. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by Step-Mother-Glendora Piercy Turner, Sister- Nancy Turner, Brothers- Noel Turner and Ricky Turner. Mr. Turner is survived by his Wife: Bonnie Turner; Daughters- Rachel Turner Meadow (Jason), Jennifer Turner Hall (Calvin); Son- Matthew Turner; Grandchildren- Joseph Johnson, Bryson Meadow, Caden Dodson, Gracie Meadow, Jacob Hall, and Kinsley Meadow; Step-Father- John Welch; Brothers- Duane Turner (Kathy) and Ray Turner (Tammy); Sisters- – Mary Yates (Cecil), Brenda Turner (Andy); Sister-in-law- Kay Turner and Vickie Turner; Several other extended family members. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 2 pm till the time of service. In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to the First Baptist Church of Sparta, TN youth group.

Funeral services for Nadine H. Denny, age 95 of Cookeville, will be conducted Thursday, December 12, 2019 beginning at 1:00 PM from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home.. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Ms. Denny passed from this life Monday, December 9, 2019, in Cookeville. She was born Thursday, May 22, 1924 in Franklin, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Earnest and Reba (Parrish) Huggins. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother, and Friend to all that knew her. She was a member of First Baptist Church, and enjoyed quilting, working in her flower garden, and will be remembered for her fried chicken. She is survived by: 2 Daughters: Diana Denny of Nashville, Debra Denny Cobb of Cookeville; 1 Son: David Hugh Denny of Bowling Green, KY; 3 Granddaughters and Spouses: Shannon and John Towe of Pinellas Park, FL, Devon and Trampus Jaggers of Bowling Green, KY, Megan Denny of Nashville; 2 Great Grandchildren: Alyssa Jaggers of Auburn, KY, David Ray Jaggers of Bowling Green, KY; 3 Sisters and Spouses: Carol and Jimmy Mehta of Franklin, NC, Beth Harper of Madison, AL, Wanda and Guy Fouts of Franklin, NC; 1 Brother: Mitchell Huggins of Franklin, NC. Also survived by many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her Husband: Charles Hugh Denny, 2 Brothers, Bill and Rass Huggins, 3 Sisters: Christine Welch, Ann Welch, and Laura Jean Stidham. The family will receive friends Thursday, December 12 from 12:00 PM until time of service at 1:00 PM.

Funeral services for Ian Michael James Austin, age 10, of Cookeville, will be at 6 p.m. Thursday December 12 at The Edge Facility at Life Church. Pastor Bobby Davis will officiate. Ian passed away suddenly Saturday December 7, 2019. He was born September 25, 2009 in Cookeville, TN to Jamie Austin and Kayla Randolph. The family will receive friends Thursday from 3 p.m. until service time at the church.

The Funeral Service for Adrian Clark Williams, 29, of Sparta, will be on Friday, December 13, 2019 at 1 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Bro. Ryan West officiating. Burial will follow at Plainview Cemetery in Cassville. He passed away Monday, December 9, 2019 at his home. He was born on August 14, 1990 to Dale Lovell and Rhonda Goodwin in Smithville. He is preceded in death by his Father- Dale Lovell, Grandfather- Jim Troglen and family, Grandmother- Dymple Williams and Great-Grandmother- Alvaree Knowles. Survivors include; Parents- Rhonda and Neil Goodwin; Fiancé- Amy Whitworth; Son- Levi Clark Williams; Grandmother- Eugenia Lovell of Louisiana and family, and Linda Selby; Grandfather- Gary Selby; Aunt and Uncle- Rena and Terry West; Special Cousin and friend- Aaron Puckett; First Cousins- Brittney Maynard, Cody Maynard, Lindsey West, and Ryan West. A host of family and friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 13, 2019 from 11 am – 1 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service for Alfred Jeran Gribble, age 31 of Sparta, will be Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 1pm, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Sparta with Bro. Glen Leftwich officiating, with burial to follow at Doyle Cemetery. On Sunday, December 8, 2019 at 8:18 am in the Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD. Alfred’s journey on earth ended. He was born August 14, 1988 in Augusta, Georgia. He attended the Georgia School System until 1998, when he moved to Sparta. He graduated White County High School. He went on to study Spanish, French, and international business at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where he received his bachelor’s degree. He studied at University De Guanajuato in Mexico. He later went to Japan for a year and a half where he taught English at Riverdale School. At the time of his passing, he was studying Pathology, MA at the George Washington University, where he would have graduated in May 2020 with his master’s to become a certified speech therapist. He was preceded in death by his Grandmothers- Viola Carrick Gribble and Josie Belle Roberts, Grandfathers- Hollis Gribble Jr. He leaves to cherish his memory Mother- Brenda Roberts of Newton, Ga; Father- Loyd Gribble of Sparta; Grandfather- Arthur Roberts Jr. of Newton, GA; Three Brothers- Trey (Melinda) King of Cookeville, Gregory Brown Jr. of Atlanta, Ga, and Adariees Crawford of Newton, GA; One Sister- Dynasti Crawford of Newton, GA; Three Uncles- Johnny (Susie) Gribble of Sparta, Mark (Dedra) Gribble of Sparta, Vincent Roberts of Newton, GA; Three Aunts- Sherly and Vivian Roberts of Newton, GA, and a very special and loving Aunt Susie Gribble of Sparta; His beloved Cousin and best friend- Kenda Gribble Roberts (Zach); His childhood friend and cousin- Ramone Roberts. He was blessed by two very special friends- Tasha Fernanden and Brittany Bowman. A host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 14, 2019 from 11 am – 1 pm at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.
