Obituaries For Tuesday, April 21

Loretta Harville, age 91, of Cookeville passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville, surrounded by her family. Born Thursday, June 21, 1928 to Lewis and Allie (Countiss) Gentry, she was a member of Post Oak Baptist Church. She loved quilting and doing jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by her daughters, Rose Marie (Graham) Sexton of Knoxville, TN and Vickie Loftis of Cookeville, TN, sister, Bessie Griner of Cookeville, TN, three grandchildren, Tyler Sexton, Erica Loftis Martinez and Blake Loftis, one step-grandson, Stoney Ford and three great-grandchildren, Mia Martinez, Amelia Martinez and Annabelle Loftis. She was preceded in death by her husband William “Skip” Harville, daughter Zora Kay Harville, step daughter, Joyce Ford, three brothers, Johnny Gentry, George Gentry, Harvey Gentry and two sisters, Mary Gentry Bryant and Ruth Gentry. Private Family Graveside service will take place @ Odd Fellow Cemetery Baxter TN with Clayton Lee officiating. No visitation will be held at this time.

Arlene Frances Keckler,89, of Sparta, passed away Monday, April 20, 2020 in Cookeville. Mrs. Keckler was born on April 03, 1931 in Adrian, Michigan to the late William and Cora Parker Springer. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic, the family will hold a Celebration of Life for Mrs. Keckler at a later date.

Mary Sue Pyles, 87 of Cookeville, formerly of Stamping Ground, KY passed away at her daughter’s home in Cookeville on Sunday, April 19, 2020. The family has chosen cremation and memorial service will be at a later date in Kentucky. She was born May 31, 1932 in Dry Ridge, KY to the late John James Burnette and Lula Jump Burnette. She was a member of the Jehovah Witnesses. She enjoyed working in her garden and flowers. She was retired from the Henry County, KY Water District.

Jackie Paul Bolton, 70 of Sparta, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020, at Saint Thomas Highlands Hospital. He was born Monday, June 6, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio, he was the son of the late Jack Bolton and Pauline Tayes Scott. He loved fishing, computers, and spending time with his family. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in the Vietnam war. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Mark Scott and Monte Scott. Survivors include: Wife- Gail Bolton of Sparta; Daughters- Jenny Rebecca Morrison of FL and Andrea Marie Reed (Jeff) of OH; Sons- Erik Bolton of OH and Brian Dale Runyon of OH; Step-Mother- Genetta Bolton of Florida; Granchildren- Ethan Reed, Hunter Morrison, Kimi Jo Reed, Noah Runyon, Seth Runyon, Matthew Bolton, Jordan Runyon, and Carson Wells. Brother- Don Tayes (Beckie) of Nashville; Sister- Fonda Eaton (Eric) of Cookeville.

Raymond Reed, Age 73, Of Monterey, Tennessee, Passed Away On Saturday, April 18, 2020, At His Home. Raymond Was Born On October 27, 1946, In Overton County, Tennessee, To The Late Willard And Pauline Hargis Reed. Raymond Was Owner/Operator Of Reed’s Service Center And Reed’s Wrecker Service Of Monterey For 50 Years. He Enjoyed Talking With His Customers And Had Numerous Friends. He Also Enjoyed Farming For Several Years. He Really Enjoyed Working With His Two Nephews, Brent And Blake Key. People Who Didn’t Know Raymond Would Hear Him Talk About Brent And Blake Referring To Them As “Our Boys” And Would Never Guess They Were His Nephews. They Brought So Much Joy To His Life And He Loved Working Side By Side With Them. He Is Survived By His Wife, Sue Wyatt Reed Of Monterey, TN; 2 Sisters And Brothers-In-Law, Nancy And Randell Eldridge Of Monterey, TN, Cornetta And Doug Brown Of The Hanging Limb Community; 1 Brother And Sister-In-Law, Ronnie And Charlotte Reed Of Cookeville, TN; 5 Nephews, Brent (Tinisha) Key Of Clarkrange, TN, Blake (Chasity) Key Of The Muddy Pond Community, Steve (Vickie) Lewis Of The Hanging Limb Community, Jonathan Reed Of Algood, TN, Justin Reed Of Cookeville, TN; 1 Niece, Natalie (Brandon) Masters Of Rickman, TN; Great Nieces And Nephews, Nahla And Canaan Key Of Clarkrange, TN, Anniston Key Of The Muddy Pond Community, Stephanie (Dave) Harding Of Cookeville, TN, Ryan (Whitney) Lewis Of Cookeville, TN, Ashton Reed Of Monterey, TN, Logan, Haven And Callie Masters Of Rickman, TN. His Wishes Of Cremation With No Services Are Being Honored.

Graveside services for James Christopher Dodson, 50, of Sparta, will be held at Plainview Cemetery on Wednesday, April 22, 2020 at 12 P.M. He passed away April 18th, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Hospital. James was born September 13th, 1969 to Jackie Ray Dodson Sr. and Cheryl Hargiss. He is survived by his sons, Justin Dodson, Hunter Dodson, Fisher Dodson ,and Sean Dodson; mother, Cheryl Hargiss;grandmother, Fraulena Hargiss; brother, Jon Patrick (Chasity Ann) Dodson, and Jackie Ray Dodson Jr.; sister, Avis Oliver; special sister, Tabatha Ballew; Numerous nieces and nephews. Due to Covid-19 the family will have a private viewing.

Graveside services for Mr. Harold Gene Ayers, 79, of Hilham, will be held at 2 P.M. on Thursday, April 23, 2020, at the New Hope Cemetery in the New Hope community of Jackson County, TN. There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home. He passed away on Monday, April 20, 2020, at Signature Health Care in Algood, TN. He was born December 1, 1940, in Overton County, TN, to the late Elmer Mitchell Ayers and Bessie Fisk Ayers. On February 1, 1968, he was married to Opal Dean Ramsey Ayers, who survives. He was a retired tool and die maker, and a member of the New Hope Community Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Survivors include his Wife: Opal Dean Ramsey Ayers of Hilham, TN; 1 Son: Jeff (Melinda) Ayers of Hilham, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Ethan Ayers and Sarah Ayers, both of Hilham, TN; and 2 Sisters: Faye Anderson and Brenda (Jack) Buck, all of Livingston, TN. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends also survive.
