Obituaries For Thursday, October 14 

Ms. Geneva Ann Wilson Frazier, age 93 of Sparta, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at NHC of Sparta. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Jaye B. Fields, age 64 of Granville, passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Her wishes of cremation are being honored, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Mrs. Fields was born November 11, 1956, in Binghamton, NY, to the late George Wasley, Sr. and Avalon Wasley. She was a dental hygienist and a member of Granville United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Barry W. Fields of Granville; daughters, Meagan Morris-Wasley and Jaci Tarlowe; son, Arthur Cappelen.

Mr. Ethan Wayne Bruce, age 31 of Sparta, passed away Monday, October 11, 2021, at Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Bruce was born May 25, 1990, in Jacksonville, FL, the son of Eric and Callie Yergy Bruce. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a son, Oliver Bruce of Smithville.

Mr. Charles Walters, age 93 of Middletown, OH, and formerly of Monterey and Cookeville, passed away Sunday, October 10, 2021, at Majestic Care of Middletown. His wishes of cremation are being honored with no services planned. Mr. Walters was born May 1, 1928, in Irvine, KY, to the late Ellard Hayden and Ethel Adams Walters. Mr. Walters was a machinist working with Chrysler in Dayton, OH. He was a previous deacon and member of Eastwood Baptist Church. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David Ray and Patricia Walters of Hamilton, OH. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Walters.

Mrs. Louise Hamilton, age 72 of Cookeville, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family has chosen cremation, with no services at this time. Mrs. Hamilton was born March 31, 1949, in Quebec, Canada, to the late Emilien Demers and Juliette Demers. She was married to the late Stanley Hamilton. She was retired from production work at Apcom. Survivors include a daughter, Emilie Yates of Gainesboro.

A graveside service for Mrs. Helen Stephens, age 89 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, October 15, at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Stephens passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021. She was born Saturday, February 13, 1932, in Hopewell, PA, to the late Michael and Mary Pavlicko. Upon graduation from high school, Helen moved to Washington D.C. and was hired to work at the FBI. Her career with the FBI later led her to Detroit, MI, where she met her future husband, Kenneth. They began a family and Helen became a homemaker. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her flowers and watching birds. Survivors include include her children, Kenneth, William, and Kathy. In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Stephens.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Christine “Ruby” Cole, age 86 of Cookeville, will be held Friday, October 15, at 1:00 p.m., at Crest Lawn Funeral Home. Mrs. Cole passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021. She was born Friday, September 6, 1935, in Baxter, the daughter of the late Wilson Henley and Mary Herren Henley. Ruby was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Willow Avenue Church of Christ. She was an avid collector of glassware. Survivors include a daughter, Patsy (Donnie) Williams; two sons, Darrell (Ronda) Cole and Cameron (Nancy) Cole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Leslie Arnold “Moose” Cole, and a son, Gregory Kent Cole. Visitation will be Friday, October 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at Crest Lawn Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mr. Melvin June Martin, age 93 of Cookeville, will be Saturday, October 16, at 11 a.m., at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Allison Cemetery. Mr. Martin passed away Friday October 8, 2021, at NHC of Cookeville. The family will receive friends Friday, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., and again Saturday, from 10 a.m. until service time.

Funeral services for Mr. Charles Poston, age 67 of Sparta, will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Hunter Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Old Bon Air Cemetery. Mr. Poston passed away Monday, October 11, 2021, at his residence. He was born August 26, 1953 in Quebeck, to the late Carlos Lee Poston, Sr and Vella Mai Redmon Poston. Charles was retired from Thomas Industries and after retiring, he was the custodian for the Doyle Elementary School. Survivors include his wife, Darlene Emerton Poston; son, Charles Richard Poston, II and wife, Sandra. The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Friday.

A visitation for the family and friends of Mr. Gordon Gene Stephens, age 74 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, October 16, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Crest Lawn Funeral Home in Cookeville. There will be an Honor Guard presentation at 1 p.m. Mr. Stephens passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, surrounded by his family. Gordon proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He proudly rode with and was a member of the Mechanized Calvary, First Battalion, Company “A”. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his wife, Brenda, and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Stephens; and daughter, April Wiseman. Following the visitation, Gordon will be taking his last ride to Big Puckett’s Campground where they will be celebrating his life. A pot luck meal will be served. Please bring a dish to share.

Funeral services for Mrs. Margaret Ann Markum, age 91 of Franklin and formerly of Cookeville, will be Monday, October 18, at 11 a.m., at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Dodson Branch Cemetery. Mrs. Markum passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. The family will receive friends Sunday, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., and again Monday, from 10 a.m. until service time.

Funeral services for Mrs. Lucy Louise Henry, age 88 of Sparta, will be held Monday, October 18, at 2:00 p.m., at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Henry passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021, at Life Care Center of Sparta. She was born March 11, 1933, in Cookeville. She was the daughter of the late Johnny Estil and Gladys Fitzpatrick Wright. She was a member of Findlay Church of Christ. She worked for the White County School System for many years. She loved her family very much. Survivors include a son, Kevin Lee Henry (Renee) of Sparta; a daughter, Joan Elaine Gilliam (Denny) of Sparta. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy Henry. The family will welcome friends on Monday, from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.

A Memorial Service for Ms. Bessie Louise Selby, age 74 of Sparta, will be held Monday, October 18, at 5:00 p.m., at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. Ms. Selby passed away Tuesday, October 12, 2021, at Saint Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. She was born July 28, 1947, in Sparta, the daughter of the late Lyles and Beulah Stamps Frasier. Survivors include a son, Nathan Selby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jackie Keen. The family will welcome friends Monday, from 4:00 p.m. until time of the service, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home.

A visitation for Ms. Pamela Boles, age 59 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, October 30, from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., at Presley Funeral Home. Ms. Boles passed away Friday, October 8, 2021, at her home. She was born Tuesday, February 20, 1962, in Barberton, OH, the daughter of the late John Wilson and the late Cynthia Boles Wilson. Pam was a fun loving person. She was a good mom, sister, and friend to who ever needed one. Pam enjoyed the outdoors, camping and fishing were her favorites. Survivors include two sons, Bobby Boles of Cookeville, and Michael Boles of Pensacola, FL.
