Mrs. Amanda Fox, age 93 of Cookeville, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Bailey Manor. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Ms. Margaret Markum, age 91 of Franklin, and formerly of Cookeville, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Alive Hospice of Murfreesboro. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mr. Melvin Martin, age 93 of Cookeville, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021, at NHC of Cookeville. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Mr. Charlie King Wester, age 83 of Cookeville, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Ms. Lisa Ann Martin, age 59 of Gainesboro and formerly of Bedford, IN, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, at her home. No services are planned at this time.  She was born November 8, 1961, in Seymor, IN, to the late Franices H. Sweany Jr. and Esther Caplinger Sweany. Survivors include two daughters, Lisa Ann (Ivan) Goen of Bedford, IN, Jenny (Tom) Ely of Austinl IN; one son, Tommy (Becky) Graham of New Castle, IN.

Mrs. Cecil Wolverton, affectionately known as “Cece,” age 97 of Cookeville, passed away Thursday, October 7, 2021, at Standing Stone Care and Rehabilitation Center in Monterey. No services are planned. One of thirteen children, she was born September 11, 1924, in Pike County, KY, to the late Daniel B. and Gipsy Chapman Hall. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Dennis Jensen of Cookeville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Gerald “Jerry” Wolverton.

Mrs. Betty Jo Curtis Hall, age 66 of Bloomington Springs, passed away Saturday, October 9, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family has chosen cremation, with memorial services to be held at a later date at the Wilhite Church in Cookeville. Mrs. Hall was born May 4, 1955, in Livingston, to the late Paskell and Roberta Gore Curtis. She worked at the Russell Stover Candy Factory. Survivors include her husband, John Hall of Bloomington Springs; three daughters, Michelle Davis of Cookeville, Angelia Amy Gentry of Granville, and Shelia Marie Hall of Cookeville.

Mrs. Barbara Gail Robinson, age 69 of Sparta, passed away Friday, October 8, 2021, at her home. Cremation has been chosen, and a private family memorial will be planned at a later date. She was born Friday, October 26, 1951, in Cookeville, the daughter of the late Robert Thompson and the late Reba Smith Leggett. She was the loving wife of the late Jackie Robinson for 55 blessed years. Barbara was a kind-hearted and Godly woman. She cared for her children and especially her husband when he wasn’t able to care for himself. Barbara enjoyed gardening, growing flowers and sewing. She was a funny and humorous person, making light of everything and everyone. Barbara was a very stubborn and strong-willed person, she would tell you the way things were (without filtering). Most of all, Barbara loved the Lord, her children and grandchildren. Survivors include two sons, Roger (Melissa) Robinson of Cookeville, and Ronnie (Stephanie) Robinson of Memphis; one daughter, Michelle (Brenton) Cooper of Sparta.

Graveside services for Mr. Billy Jim Little, age 91 of Rickman, will be conducted Tuesday, October 12, at 11:30 a.m., from the Good Hope Cemetery. Mr. Little passed away Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at his home in Rickman. He was born in Overton County to the late Hershel and Clara Belle Maddux Little. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Livingston, a 1948 graduate of Livingston Academy, and graduate of Tennessee Tech University with a Bachelor of Science.  Billy served his country in the Navy and the Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, working on computers, riding motorcycles, camping and traveling. Billy also enjoyed working with the Gideons International. Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Mrs. Roxie Smith Little of Rickman; sons, David Little and wife, Veronica, of Conyers, GA, and John Mark Little and wife, Jean, of Alaska; daughters, Sheila Heeke and husband, Lance, of Young Harris, GA, Phyllis Looper and husband, Doug, of Livingston, and Teresa Richardson and husband, Jamie Boykin, of Livingston. The family will welcome friends at the Graveside at Good Hope Cemetery.

Funeral services for Mr. Joshua Kyle Lawson, age 30 of Cookeville, will be Tuesday, October 12, at 1 p.m., at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper, Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Mayberry Cemetery in Jackson County. Mr. Lawson passed away Saturday evening October 9, 2021 at his home. He was born July 7, 1991, in Dayton, OH, to James Lawson of Gainesboro, and the late Lorrie Katz of Cookeville. Josh was a member of Pippin Church of Christ and employed at Livingston Auto Traders. Survivors include his wife, Samantha Mayberry Lawson; his children, Mason Alexander and Alaina Lee Lawson. The family will receive friends Monday, until 8 p.m., and again Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until time of services.

Graveside services for Mrs. Peggy Joyce Lollar Franklin, age 93 of the Beaty Swamp Community, will be conducted Tuesday, October 12, at 2 p.m., from the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Franklin passed away Friday, October 8, 2021. She was born in Carthage on October 29, 1927, to the late Waymon Detro and Daisy May Jenkins Lollar. A 1946 graduate of Livingston Academy, Peggy was a member of the Midway Christian Church. Peggy truly marched to the beat of her own drum, never met a stranger, and loved humor and pulling a good joke on her family and friends. She enjoyed flowers of all colors, shapes, and sizes, especially roses. Peggy loved sunny days and was always joyful. She enjoyed cooking for her friends and family, entertaining at her house making sure her table was set in true proper etiquette with fresh flowers from her home as the centerpiece. Peggy loved animals and enjoyed just being at home taking care of her house, yard, and decorating for each season. She was also very knowledgeable about birds, a trait she got from her father who taught her from a child by reading her books from the Audubon Society. Survivors include her daughter, Judith Ann Franklin Vaden and husband, Charles, of Lebanon; son, Douglas Glen Franklin and wife, Dian, of Livingston. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Glenn Franklin; son, William Lee Franklin. The family will welcome friends at the graveside.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Jo Tollison, age 64 of Jackson County, will be on Tuesday, October 12, at 2 p.m., in the chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery. Mrs. Tollison passed away Tuesday, October 5, 2021, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born February 2, 1957, in Jackson County, the daughter of the late Hubert Hamlet and Fannie Earlene Davidson Hamlet. She was a factory worker. Survivors include two sons, Bill Edmond Kinnard of Smyrna and Daniel Hubert Kinnard of Leitchfield, KY. Visitation will be held Monday, October 11, until 8 p.m., and again on Tuesday, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home.

Celebration of Life services for Mr. Richard Kent Schock, age 68 of Livingston, will be conducted Thursday, October 14, at 3:00 p.m., from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston. Mr. Schock passed away Friday, October 8, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Long Beach, CA, on April 13, 1953, to the late Frances Pickering and Monette Una House Schock. Survivors include his wife, Claire Schock of Livingston; sons Sharonn Schock of Anahei m, CA, and Richard “Richie” Schock and wife, Asha, of Huntington Beach, CA. The family will welcome friends Thursday, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services at 3:00 p.m.

A visitation for the family and friends of Mr. Gordon Gene Stephens, age 74 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, October 16, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., at Crest Lawn Funeral Home in Cookeville. There will be an Honor Guard presentation at 1 p.m. Mr. Stephens passed away Sunday, September 26, 2021, surrounded by his family. Gordon proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He proudly rode with and was a member of the Mechanized Calvary, First Battalion, Company “A”. He loved to ride his Harley Davidson motorcycle with his wife, Brenda, and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Brenda Stephens; and daughter, April Wiseman. Following the visitation, Gordon will be taking his last ride to Big Puckett’s Campground where they will be celebrating his life. A pot luck meal will be served. Please bring a dish to share.
