Jo Anne Goodwin, 69, of Sparta, passed away Thursday, December 18, 2019 at her home. She was born on August 28, 1950 to the late Frank and Mary Ray Gasperone in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and family. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by; Granddaughter- Kristin Jones and Brother- John Gasperone. Survivors include; Daughters- Hannah Price (Chase) and Tina Jones both of Sparta; Son- Michael Simpson (Becky) of Nixa Missouri; Grandchildren- Brian, Isabelle, Abigail, Bethany, Allyson, Tyrus, and Caleb; Great-Grandchildren- Blakelyn, Garrett, Dekkerd, and Gabe; Brother- Ronnie Gasperone (Beth) of Phoenix, Arizona. No services are planned at this time.

Funeral services for Bobby Lee “Cotton” Garrison, age 84, of Cookeville will be held Friday, December 20th, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Presley Funeral Home with James Rogers and Mike Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. “Cotton” passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. He was born Thursday, September 5, 1935 in Jackson County to the late William Garrison and Lucy Ann Bean Garrison. He was a member of Smyrna Church of Christ. He was a Welder for over 50 years, and finished his career at ME Industries. He loved to be outside working in his yard and garden. He also enjoyed Country and Bluegrass music. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Clyde Kenneth “Toby’ Garrison and Billy Junior “Med” Garrison; 2 sisters, Barbara Jean Fulton and Dorothy Harp; several nieces and nephews. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Opal Judd Garrison; son, Bobby J. (Elaine) Garrison of Cookeville; daughter, Teresa (Randal) Boston of Crossville; 5 grandchildren, Ashley Gentry of Crossville, Kelly (Grant) Thurman of Crossville, Kayla (Jon) Sarji of Cookeville, Blake Garrison of Cookeville, and Allison (Nathan) Capps of Knoxville; 3 great-grandchildren, Emmy Claire Sarji, Abigail Thurman, and Liam Capps; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 19, 2019, 3:00 PM – 8:00 PM and Friday, December 20, 2019, 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM at Presley Funeral Home.

Graveside services and interment for Mrs. Katheryn Lavon Wagner, age 96 of Baxter will be held Friday December 20 at 11:30 a.m. (EST) at Oakridge Cemetery in Goshen, Indiana. Mrs. Wagner died Tuesday December 17, 2019 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Wednesday June 13, 1923 in Goshen, IN to the late Thomas and Lula Mae Confer Hill. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Robert “Bob” and Martha Anne Wagner of Baxter; six grandchildren, a great grandchild; and sister, Edna Schmidt of Wisconsin.

Funeral services for Betty Jean Hundley, age 63, of Baxter will be held Friday, December 20th, 2019 at 12:00 noon at Presley Funeral Home with John Pippin officiating. Interment will follow in Odd Fellows Cemetery. Betty Jean Hundley passed away Monday, December 16, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. She was born Sunday, June 17, 1956 in Cookeville to Martha Edna Medley Bruce and the late Phy Landon Bruce. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the rock and glue of her family and did for everyone. Her shoes could never be filled. Betty drove for Putnam County School Transportation for 38 years. She will be greatly missed as she was Loved by All. Betty was preceded in death by her father, Landon “Benny” Bruce; grandson, Jaxson Tyler Evans; 3 sisters. She is survived by her husband, Bryan Hundley Sr.; children, Bryan Hundley Jr. & wife Joy of North Vernon, Indiana, Chrissy Sumbler and husband Joshua of Crossville, and Ashley Evans and husband Billy of Cookeville; grandchildren, Trey, Savannah, Jaden, Todd, Kistin, Shaeley, Niklaus & Jada (set to arrive in Jan.);mother, Martha Bryant of Baxter; brother, Joe Bruce of Maryville. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 19, 2019, 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Friday, December 20, 2019, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Kenneth Ray Sadler, age 83 of the Spring Creek Community, will be conducted 1 PM, Friday, December 20, 2019, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home in Livingston. Bro. Paul Stringer will officiate. Burial will be in Draper Cemetery in Gainesboro, with Military Honors provided at graveside by the Overton County Veterans Honor Guard. The family will welcome friends on Thursday evening from 5 until 9 PM and again on Friday from 10 AM until time of services at 1 PM from Speck Funeral Home. Kenneth Ray Sadler, age 83, of Cookeville, TN, deceased December 16, 2019, surrounded by his devoted wife and beloved siblings. Mr. Sadler, a native of Livingston, TN, was the son of the late Honorable John Fowler Sadler and Mary Anderson Sadler of Livingston. In addition to his parents, he was recently predeceased by son, Charles Daniel Sadler (1965-2019) of Houston, TX, a brother, Jerry Meadows Sadler (1958-1999) and former wife Bernice Golden Sadler. Those remaining to cherish his memory, are his loving wife of 27 years, Theresa (Terri) Brackett Sadler of Cookeville and cherished son, Kenneth Ray Sadler, Jr., of Kingston, TN. Additionally, Mr. Sadler is survived by daughter-in-law, Nancy Hancock Sadler of Houston, TX; granddaughter, Tonya Sadler Padget and husband, Dylan of Norfolk, VA, and grandson, Charles Daniel Sadler, Jr., of Houston TX. One great granddaughter, Kendalyn Sadler, of Houston, TX, also survives.

Funeral services for Dallas Carl Allen, 59, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, December 20, 2019, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Dodson Branch Cemetery in the Dodson Branch community of Jackson County. He passed away on Tuesday, December 17, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born August 23, 1960, in Detroit, MI, to the late James Bruce Allen and Anna Ruth McDaniels Smith. He worked in carpentry and roofing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Granddaughter: Mackenzie Allen; 1 Brother: James Edward Allen; and his Grandparents: Elmo Allen and Myrtle Allen, and Thelma Cole. Survivors include 2 Sons: James Allen and Michael Allen, both of Cookeville; 1 Daughter: Christal Allen of Gainesboro; 9 Grandchildren: Madison, Raelee, Kaylee, Kylee, Kelsie, Jayton, Breanna, Chloe, and Calob Allen; 1 Great Grandchild: Emmet Allen; and 1 Sister: Deborah Sue Trentham of Sevierville. Memorial services for June Carol (Montgomery) Cabral, age 67 of Sparta, will be held on Friday, December 20, 2019 at 6 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses at 3075 Miller Ave in Crossville. was born on November 10, 1952, in Brockton, Massachusetts, and was raised in nearby Hanover. She was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on June 24, 1966 and served actively for over 50 years. She married Ron Cabral on September 28, 1974, and the couple moved to Falmouth on Cape Cod where they raised a family. She and the family moved to Sparta, Tennessee, in 2005 to work with a congregation there, and last July she and her husband downsized and relocated to Crossville for the same reason. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Funeral services for Mrs. Maudie Pippin Farris, age 93, of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday December 21 at Willow Avenue Church of Christ. Interment will follow in the Cunningham Cemetery. Mrs. Farris passed away suddenly Wednesday December 18, 2019 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Her family will receive friends at the church Friday from 4 – 8 p.m. and again Saturday from 9 a.m. until service time.

Mrs. Henry Passed Away On Monday, December 16, 2019, At The Blount Memorial Hospital In Maryville, Tennessee. Mrs. Henry Was A Homemaker. She Was A Member Of The Church Of God Prophecy Since 1961 And Served As Lay Minister For The Church. She Was An Avid Sports Fan Especially Of The Chicago Cubs And UT Vols. Funeral services for Lena Mae Judd Humphrey, age 66 of Walling, will be conducted 11:00am Saturday, December 21, 2019 at Greenwood Baptist Church with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. She went to meet Jesus December 18, 2019 surrounded by loved ones at Standing Stone Care and Rehab. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-8:00pm at the church.

A gathering of friends for Gary N. Spears, age 72 of Livingston, will be held from 1 until 3 PM on Saturday, December 21, 2019, from the chapel of Livingston Funeral Home. Mr. Spears passed from this life on Monday, December 16, 2019, from the Overton County Health and Rehab Center. He was born in Overton County on April 1, 1947, to the late A. B. and Ethel Smith Spears. Gary enjoyed swapping and trading, playing cards, watching westerns, relaxing on the couch, and sharing old stories with his brothers and sisters. Mr. Spears leaves behind his sons Grant Spears and wife Twila of Rickman and Rocky Spears of Livingston; daughter Tonya Vaughn and husband Tim of Cookeville; grandchildren Chance Spears, Summer Spears, Blake Vaughn, Savannah Vaughn, Conner Spears, Clay Spears, and Cole Spears; brothers Larry Spears of Livingston, Denny Spears and wife Carol of Allons, Mike Spears of Monroe, and Steve Spears of Monroe; and sisters Bonnie Cottingham and husband Tony of California, Betty Smith and husband Bill of Georgia, Faye Conatser of Muncie, Indiana, Terri Taylor and husband Keith of Cookeville, Sherry Webb and husband Gary of Livingston, and Kim Spears of Park City, Utah.

Celebration of Life Services for Ms. Debbie K. Boles, age 61 of Livingston, will be conducted 2 PM Saturday, December 21, 2019, from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 12 noon until time of services at 2 PM. Ms. Boles passed from this life on Friday, December 13, 2019, from Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born in Overton County on August 3, 1959, to the late Glen and Betty Jo McDonald Parsons. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, family, and friends. She enjoyed her quiet time, listening to music, driving around, and having her independence. Debbie leaves behind her daughter Kim Boles of Livingston; grandchildren Quinn Bailey and Kiley Bailey; and brothers Doug Parsons and wife Janet of the Dry Hollow Community, Mike Parsons, and Tony Parsons and wife Pat of Monroe.

A graveside service for Turtle Kientz, aged 69 of Cookeville, will be held Sunday, December 22nd at 1 p.m. at the Cookeville City Cemetery. Turtle was born as Donald Steven Kientz in New Orleans and was a passionate lover of New Orleans music and food throughout his life. He was DJ of the Boogie on the Bayou radio show on Radio Free Nashville and the proud winner of the 2016 Cookeville Cooking on the Square gumbo cook off. He found his second home in Cookeville when he met his wife Deanna, and was active with the Cookeville Friends Meeting (Quaker). He was an Eagle Scout, a former respiratory therapist, a fan of the Grateful Dead, a passionate progressive and an aficionado of all things tie dyed. He passed away on December 18, 2019. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deanna Nipp-Kientz, his parents Marjorie and Victor Kientz Jr. and his brother Thomas Victor Kientz. He is survived by his daughter Amy Kientz, daughter Gretchen Bybee and son in law Jeff Bybee, grandson Brandon Marina, granddaughter Hailey Marina and her partner Dylan Bangert, granddaughter Parker Bybee, grandson Dylan Bybee, and great grandson Jameson Bangert. He is also survived by brothers Dennis Kientz and Michael Kientz, his cat Sweetie, and his turtle Terrence.

Mrs. Peach Passed Away On Wednesday, December 18, 2019, At Her Home. Mr. Was A Homemaker. She Was A Member Of Monterey United Methodist Church. She Is Survived By Her Husband Of 60 Years, Gary Peach Of The Cumberland Cove Community Of Monterey; Daughter, Linda Harmon Of Lebanon; Son And Daughter-In-Law, Mark And Pamela Peach Of Madison, MS; 4 Grandchildren, Lauren (Oscar) Wolff, Michelle Peach, Kimberly (Drew) Norwood, And Matthew Harmon; 2 Great Grandchildren, Owen And Allyssa; And Sister, Patricia Craige Of Delray Beach, FL.
