Mrs.Lessie Hayes, 95 of Monterey died Tuesday morning June 6, 2023.at her home. Arrangements are pending.

Mr. Jerry Maynard, 80 of Cookeville died Tuesday June 6, 2023 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are pending.

Jimmie Edward Reno, age 80 of Cookeville, passed away Saturday June 3 at his home. Private burial at Buttram Methodist Cemetery in Athens will take place at a later date.

Graveside services for Mr. Charles M. Gunnels age 87 of Rickman, will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 10 AM at the Bethlehem Cemetery in Monterey. Officiating will be Bro. Mark Loftis. He passed away at the Overton Co. Health & Rehab on Saturday, June 3, 2023. Mr. Charles Gunnels was born in Livingston, Overton Co. to the late Charlie Benton Gunnels and Johnnie Ora Raines on October 10, 1935. Charles was married to is late wife Bobbie Jean Gunnels for 51 years. He was a member of the Netherland Church of Christ. He loved woodworking. Charles was dearly loved by his family and friends and he will be greatly missed. Survivors: Son: Joe Gunnels; Daughter: Denise Turner; Granddaughter Leah Gunnels; Grandson: Lucas Gunnels; Sister: Verta Franklin; 2 Brothers: Bud Gunnels and Gary Gunnels; A host of family and friends also survive. Preceded in death: Wife: Bobbie Jean Gunnels; Father Charlie Benton Gunnels; and Mother: Johnnie Ora Raines Gunnels. In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to the Dementia Society of America.

A Celebration of Life for Pamela “Pam” Corinne Ealey, 62 of Cookeville, will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 7, at Hope Church in Algood. Pam passed away peacefully on June 2, 2023, at NHC of Cookeville. Born on October 31, 1960, in Oak Ridge, she was a loving, generous, and friendly soul who touched the lives of many. Pam was a proud graduate of Oak Ridge High School and continued her education at Tennessee Tech University, where she earned her degree in 1982. Her dedication to education and personal growth was a testament to her strong character and determination. On April 6, 1984, Pam married the love of her life, Roger Ealey, in Algood. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising two daughters, Karen Taylor of Smyrna, and Kimberly Noland and her husband Jon of Algood. Pam’s love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with her three grandchildren, Lilly Ealey, Miles Taylor, and Andrea Taylor. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Lynn Askew, and nephew, Chris Askew. Pam was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Mildred Askew, and her two brothers, William and Greg Askew. Throughout her professional life, Pam was a dedicated and hardworking individual. She was an active member of Hope Church in Algood, where she found solace and strength in her faith. For the past 17 years, Pam served as the executive director of Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity, where she made a lasting impact on the lives of countless families in need. Prior to her work with Habitat for Humanity, Pam was employed at JWC Broadcasting. Pam’s favorite color was purple, a hue that perfectly represented her vibrant and warm personality. She had a natural ability to make friends wherever she went, and her generosity knew no bounds. Her interests were vast and varied, but her true passion was helping others and making a difference in her community. Her family will welcome friends Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Upper Cumberland Habitat for Humanity.

Graveside services for Owen Simoneau, 58 of Gainesboro, will be held on Wednesday, June 7, 2023, at 11 A.M. at the Henderson B. Gentry Cemetery on Morrison Creek Road in Jackson County. Bro. Mike Fox will officiate. He passed away on Friday, June 2, 2023, at Hospice Care Center in Chattanooga. He was preceded in death by his Mother, and his Father: Owen Simoneau, Sr. Survivors include his Friend: Zollie Richard Chaffin of Gainesboro. There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for James Kirby Wiley , Jr., age 89 of Sparta, will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Dwight Fuqua officiating. Entombment will follow in Oak Lawn Memorial Cemetery. He passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023, his residence in Sparta. Jim was born Thursday, May 31, 1934, in Nashville, he was the son of the late James Kirby Wiley, Sr. and the late Clarice Buford Wiley. He was the husband of Wanda Raines Wiley. Jim has worn many hats in his lifetime, but is best known worldwide for his amazing fish carvings. He is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Wanda Ray Raines Wiley; step-son, John Robert Irwin; daughter, Shannon Wiley Kelly, 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Preceding him in death are his parents, 2 daughters, a grand-daughter, and 1 great grandson. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 11:00 AM until time of the services at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for James Robert Hayden, Jr., age 64 of Doyle, will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, June 9, 2023 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home. He passed away Saturday, June 3, 2023, at his home in Doyle. He was born Wednesday, July 16, 1958 in Muncie, Indiana. James was the son of the late James Robert Hayden, Sr. and the late Marcia Conley Hayden. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by his daughter- Melissa Bradley, and his grand-daughter- Josie Cranfill. Surviving family members include: Wife- Martha Hayden of Doyle; Daughters- Diane Cranfill (Matt) of Texas, and Jennifer Wells of Indiana; Grandchildren- Christian, Cydni, Dillon, Courtney, Chyanne, Lexi, Logan, and Brianne; Great Grandchildren- Adin, Isaiah, Izzy, Grayson, and Braxton; Sisters- Cindy Cliche (Kevin), Jennifer Hayden; Several nieces and nephews also survive. James served in the United States Navy as an Electronics Technician Third Class. He served on submarines. The family will receive friends on Friday from 1:00 PM until time of the services at the funeral home.

A Memorial Service for Johnny Frank Hughes, 70 of Crossville, is tentatively set for 3:00 PM on Friday, June 9, 2023 with visitation from 1:00 pm until Service time with burial following in the Dixie O’Connor Cemetery next to his family. Johnny passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at his residence. He was born July 24, 1952 in Sparta. He spent his early years growing up in Sparta and Johnson City, before moving to Crossville at the age of six. After graduating in 1971 from Cumberland County High School, he married his high school sweetheart and then served 3 years in the National Guard. Known to his friends as “Bone” he worked in several different fields, primarily carpentry and construction, but his full-time occupation was chasing his dream of music. Music was his passion, his comfort, his way of connecting with others, and his constant companion. His passion was playing bass guitar, which he did with several bands throughout the years. Music never left him. Johnny loved people. He never met a stranger and could always make just about anyone laugh. He will be missed by many and forgotten by few. “One Good thing about Music, when it hits you, you feel no pain” -Bob Marley. He was preceded in death by his mother: Willene Cope Hughes and Father: Samuel Frank Hughes. He is survived by his: Daughter: Jody (Matt) Roberts; Son: Jesse (Merrill) Hughes; Daughter: Chase Ross; Son: Cole Ross; Son: Wyatt Hughes; Daughter: Balie Hughes; Daughter: Katie Hughes; Grandchildren: Sheridan Roberts, Ethan Roberts, Tony Roberts, Gracie Hughes, and Elana Ross.

Graveside services and interment for Mr. Eldridge Eads, 85 of Monterey, will be held Saturday June 10 at 1 pm at Whittaker Cemetery. Eldridge passed away Friday morning June 2 at his home. His family will receive friends on Saturday from 11 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. at Horner Funeral Home in Monterey.

Memorial Services for Adger “A.C.” Charles Sullivan, age 82 of Cookeville, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Tracy Curtis, Wayne Sullivan, and Eugene Cunningham officiating. A private burial will follow at a later date. He passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. He was born May 23, 1941 in Spencer, and he was the son of the late Adger Sullivan and Connie Lawson Sullivan Madewell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Kewin Madewell; siblings, Sara Grimaldi, Evelyn Summerlin, Gewin Youngblood, Ruth Dodson, and Donnie Sullivan; and a great-grandson, JD Hyatt; all whom he loved very much. Survivors include: Sons- Mike Sullivan (Denise) and LaVaughn Smith; Daughter- Lisa Sullivan Scott; Grandchildren- Damon Scott, Paige Scott Reed (Lucas), Allan Smith, and Leslie Hyatt Goodwin; Great-Grandchildren- Andre Hyatt, Madison Maham, Austin Rodgers (Mackenzie), Trystin Scott, Ellis Reed, Anniston Reed, and Ezmay Reed, all whom he loved dearly. A.C. drove a truck, was Chief Deputy of Van Buren County, and worked as a civil engineer for TDOT for 35 years. He won many charity poker games and donated all the proceeds to benefit children. He loved sports of all kinds. To all the children he coached or umpired over the years, you know who you are, he truly loved and enjoyed each of you and hoped he left you better than he found you. He was full of pride and stories over the years. You made him happy with all the hours that were put in together. He would want to say thanks to Betty Sullivan, Janet Sullivan, special friend, Dorthy Kirby, and special family and friend, Carol and Bruce Stewart. Although times weren’t always easy, he loved each of you for taking such good care of him along the way. He also attended North Sparta Church of God. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 12:00 PM until time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested if you have any photos, fond memories, or stories of A.C., please write them down and bring them to the family at the funeral home.

A memorial service for Kaleen Emlee Fahrner, 72 of Cookeville, will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Presley Funeral Home with the Eddy Turner officiating. She died on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at home surrounded by loved ones. Born Monday, June 5, 1950 in Bay City, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late William Ervin LeMere and the late Catherine Bowden LeMere. She was the wife of Ronald Fahrner. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Presley Funeral Home.

A Funeral service for Donald Paul Agee, 90 of Cookeville, will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Presley Funeral Home with Chaplain Matthew Finchum officiating. He died on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. Born Tuesday, January 3, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Williard Agee and the late Florence Gase Agee. He was a Veteran of Korea. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM.
