Dawson Netherton, 91 of Cookeville died Thursday June 1, 2023 at his home. Arrangements are pending.

Mrs. Jane Odom, 89 of Baxter, passed away Thursday, June 1, 2023 at her home. Arrangements are incomplete.

Ray Jordan, Age 62, of Monterey, passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at his home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Mrs. Reba Gladys Poston Massa, age 79 of Sparta, will be conducted 11:00am Friday, June 2, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Elrod Cemetery. Mrs. Massa passed away Sunday, May 28, 2023 at her residence. Mrs. Massa was born August 26, 1943 in Sparta to the late William Elmer and Clara Flatt Poston. She retired from Doyle Shirt Factory. She enjoyed sewing, working in her garden, going on errands with her husband but her greatest enjoyment was her grandchildren. She loved being Granny to her family. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her son Gary Massa; sisters Pauline Dodson, Mildred Poston and Dorsie Poston; brothers Bill, Bobby, Richard and Willie Poston. Surviving family members include her husband of 57 years O.V. Massa of Sparta; Two daughters: Debbie (Kelley) Magill-Massa of San Diego, CA. and Donna (Denny) Bray of Sparta; Grandchildren: Kyle (Jill) Judd and Tyler (Chelsea) Judd; Great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Eli and Watson Judd, Bella Parsons; A host of nieces and nephews also survive. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Thursday at Hunter Funeral Home. Jeff Randolph will officiate.

Graveside Services for Shirley Jean Rollins Schreyer, age 80, of Stanford, Kentucky, formerly of Sparta, will be held 12:00CST Friday, June 2, 2023, at New Bon Air Cemetery in Sparta. Pastor Jerry Barnwell will be officiating the service. She passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at Stanford Care and Rehabilitation. Born Monday April 12, 1943, in Sparta, she was the daughter of the late Clifton H. and Catherine M. Lambert Rollins. She leaves behind her loving husband, Phillip S. Schreyer of Stanford, whom she was married to for 61 years. Shirley retired from Ingram Book Co. in 1998. She was a member of Lancaster Church of God in Lancaster, Kentucky, and a former member of East Sparta Church of God in Sparta. In addition to her husband, Shirley leaves behind one daughter, Gwen Fitzpatrick (Mark) of Stanford; one son, James Schreyer (Jamie) of Grants Pass, Oregon; four grandchildren, Adam Fitzpatrick (Melissa) of Stanford, Rachel Fitzpatrick of Stanford, Phillip Schreyer of Nashville, Tennessee, and Darla Looney of Doyle, Tennessee; four great-grandchildren, Blake Fitzpatrick, Riley Fitzpatrick, Noah Fitzpatrick, and Theo Fitzpatrick; and five siblings, D. Ralph Rollins (Louise), Sandra Page (Malcolm), Charlotte Payne (Lynn), Charles “Bud” Rollins (Shirley), and Donna Kay Kirby (Don), all of Sparta. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Patsy Sue Rollins, and Barbara Clemons; and two brothers, John M. Rollins, and Lewis E. Rollins.

Memorial services for Bobby “BOB” Joe Harlow, 86 of Cookeville, will be Friday, June 2 at 1 PM at the Dyer Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home with military honors by the Veterans Honor Guard. Pastor Tom Strong will officiate. He was born October 21, 1936 in Mount Pleasant, TN to the late Joe Norman and Gladys Marie Curtis Harlow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by wife, Kathleen “Kay” Francis Wood Long Harlow on November 4, 2014; a daughter, Julie Lynn Harlow; son, Michael Ray Harlow; siblings, Charles R. Harlow, Norman Carl Harlow, William E. Harlow, Barry Dale Harlow, Betty Jean Nance, Dorothy Porter and Linda Gale Harlow. Bob was a US Navy veteran serving from 1955 to 1959. He retired from the City of San Miguel, California as a fireman. He was a member of Gideons International. Bob had been a member of Bear Cove Baptist Church and later at Hamptons Crossroads Baptist Church. Survivors include a brother Larry Harlow of Crestview, Florida. The family will receive friends Friday after 11 AM until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Lisa Sells, age 53, of Monterey, will be conducted on Friday, June 2, 2023, at 1:00 PM from The Chapel of Goff Funeral Home. Rev. Johnny Phillips and Rev. Tommy Baldwin will officiate with interment to follow in the George M. Phillips Cemetery. Ms. Sells was born on Monday, February 23, 1970, in Fentress County to Phyllis Matthews Miller of Crawford, and the late William Roosevelt Sells Jr. Ms. Sells passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at the Crossville Medical Center. Lisa was a factory worker. She was a loving and caring mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She had a heart of gold always wanting to help anyone she could. She was always known to her family as the “fun and adventurous” aunt going to any extreme to make fun for the kids. To know her was to love her. In addition to her mother, she is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Haley and Wade Cooper of Crawford; sister, Cynthia Taylor of Cookeville; brother and sister-in-law, Billy and Tonia Sells of Rickman; and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her father and grandparents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Harold Miller. The family will receive friends at Goff Funeral Home on Friday, June 2, 2023, from 11:00 AM until time of services at 1:00 PM.

Funeral services for Ms. Joyce Marie Green, age 68 of Sparta, will be conducted 3:00pm Friday, June 2, 2023 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Highland Cemetery. She passed away at 7:05pm Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at St. Thomas Midtown Hospital in Nashville. Joyce was born February 4, 1955 in Sparta, to the late Ernest and Beulah Mae Presley Green. She retired with 25 years of service to the White County Middle School Cafeteria. She loved her work and enjoyed spending her free time at home working in her flower garden. She could be found on Saturday nights and Sunday mornings listening to gospel music and the ministry on AM 1050. Joyce adored her nieces and nephews that were like her children. Survivors include her sisters Nina Young, Sandra Zile and her significant other Timothy Wheeler; Brothers: Roger Green, Tommy Green and Jimmy Green; Special nieces, nephews and caregivers: William Alex (Mary) Zile, Jr., Reed (Amber) Zile, Mirranda Zile and Tony Dimler; A host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, nephews and extended family also survive. The family will receive friends after 1:00pm Friday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Michelle “Mickey” Phillips, 79 of Baxter, will be Saturday, June 3 at 11 AM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will be in Cooke Cemetery at a later date. Bro. John Pippin will officiate. Mickey died Monday, May 29, 2023 at her home. She was born December 19, 1943 in Glendale, California to the late Dale Melvin and Inez Geraldine Hopeman McClara. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Willie N. Phillips on February 19, 1997 and a son, Richard McGuirk. She was a retired factory worker with Oster, Identity Group, Robert Shaw and Genco. Mickey was a member of Baxter Church of Christ. She loved to laugh, spend time with family and friends and she loved her “furbabies”. Survivors include sons Jason (Tammy) Phillips of Baxter, Floyd McGuirk of River City, CA, Michael (Donna) McGuirk of Lawton, OK, daughters Marjorie McGuirk of Bushnell, FL and Sue (Lonny) Deam of Fort Mohave, AZ, 13 grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren, special friends Beverly Goff and Janice Bowman. The family will receive friends Friday from 5 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made toward the funeral expenses.

Graveside Services for Mrs. Norma Ruth Little Brown, age 88, of Cookeville, will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, June 3, 2023, from the Little Family Cemetery located at the Smith Chapel Church in Monroe. Mrs. Norma Ruth Little Brown passed from this life on May 31, 2023, at Wilson Manor Assisted Living in Lebanon, TN. Ruth was born on July 24, 1934, in Monroe, TN to the late Huey and Nan Fletcher Little. She was a 1954 graduate of Livingston Academy and 1958 graduate of Tennessee Tech. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cookeville. Ruth was a kind, sweet, beautiful, brave and loving person who lived her life with grace and faith. She was a wonderful example for all of us and will live in our hearts and memoires forever. She will be dearly missed and was genuinely loved by her 14 nieces and nephews and numerous great, great-great, and great great great nieces and nephews. She will be fondly remembered by neighbors and friends, in Portsmouth, Virginia, Livingston, Cookeville and at Wilson Manor in Lebanon. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edward Brown and son, Charles Edward “Chuckie” Brown II. In addition, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Donald, Ernest, Dennie, Champ, Ray, Emitt and Dock Little and her sisters, Geneva Crabtree and Ninis Beaty. The family will welcome friends at the graveside. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church in Cookeville.

A memorial service and tribute for Hamilton Anthony “Tony” Horsman, age 74 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, beginning at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home. He passed away May 13th 2023 at 10:26 am, at his home in Cookeville. Born Friday, November 19, 1948 in New York City, New York, he was the son of the late Homer and Ella (Perrusi) Horsman. Tony eventually made his home at Horseman Farm in Cookeville. A decorated Vietnam veteran who served the US Army from 1966-69, he was an entrepreneur, sailor, equestrian, and farmer. Friend, mentor, and elder statesman; he spent his later years focused on supporting the recovery of others. He is survived by his loving wife Hannah, his children Hunter and Halia, his sisters Catherine and Patricia. In lieu of flowers, Tony wished for donations to be made to Priority House.

Funeral services for Mr. Robert G. Boles age 90 of Hilham, will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 2 PM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the New Hope Cemetery in Hilham. He passed from this life on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at his residence. Robert Boles was born in Gordonsville, TN on Sunday, May 28, 1933 to the late William P. Boles and Mertle Pigg Boles. Robert was a member of the Burristown Church of Christ. Robert was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be greatly missed. Survivors: Son: Danny Boles; Daughter: Susan Stover; a host of other family and friends also survive. Family will welcome friends at the funeral home on Friday evening, May 2nd starting at 5 PM until 8 PM.

Funeral services for Juanita West, 92 of the Burristown community in Jackson County, will be held on Saturday, June 3, 2023, at 2 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in Gainesboro. She was born March 7, 1931, in Jackson County. She passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Livingston Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of the late Willie Ace Coffee and Georgia E. Richardson Coffee. She was married to the late Robert West, who passed away February 17, 2016. She was a housewife, a resident of the Burristown community, and a member of the Cubb Creek Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her Son: Jim Ed West; Granddaughter: Nicky Tate; Grandson: Robert Dale West; Son-in-law, Terry Tate; Brothers: Sammie Edward Coffee, James Coffee, Joe Coffee, and Billy Coffee; and Sisters: Loretta Gentry, Liza Ann Wheeler, Dorothy Ray, and Grace Hall. Survivors include her Sons: Lee (Sharon) West of Bloomington Springs and Willie (Sandy) West of Red Boiling Springs; Daughters: Elaine Tate, Diane Ashburn, and Debbie (Buck) Anderson all of Gainesboro; Brother: Thomas Coffee of Smiths Grove, KY; Sisters: Alta Mae Brown of Bowling Green, KY, Sally B. Trout of Dayton, OH, and Kathleen Lloyd of Rockville, KY; Grandchildren: Jimmy Wayne West, Robert Meadows, Beth Shoulders, Michelle Cook, Sandra Smith, Terry Tate, Brent West, and Jhamie West; Step-Grandson: Chris Robinson; 15 Great Grandchildren; 1 Step-Great Grandson; and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Memorial donations may be made to assist with funeral expenses by contacting the funeral home.

A service to celebrate the life of James Ronald “Ron” Hensley, age 83 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. at Cookeville First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Hensley died Thursday May 25, 2023 at Bethesda Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. His family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the church.

A memorial service for Joan Wegerbauer, 87, of Cookeville, will be at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Presley Funeral Home. She passed away on Monday, May 29, 2023, at The Heritage Center in Morristown. Born Friday, October 4, 1935 in Meriden, Connecticut, she was the daughter of the late Paul Westermeyer and the late Emily Murdock Westermeyer. She was the loving wife of the late Karl Thomas Wegerbauer for 55 years. Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed being a homemaker and business owner of Subway in the Cookeville area for 29 years. She enjoyed having her horses and llamas. She was a doll maker, and an excellent carpenter, making anything she wanted. Loved to travel to Maine for lobster and every where else. She vacationed at Topsail Island in N.C. since the 1980’s. She spent time away in Cosby in her log cabin. Joan was a member of the Welcome Club of Cookeville, the Red Hat Society and several book clubs. Surviving are sons Steve (Becky) Wegerbauer of Gainesboro, Tom (Elisa) Wegerbauer of Richmond, VA, Eric (Julie) Wegerbauer of Cookeville, Corey (Beth) Wegerbauer West Chester, PA; daughter Amy (John) Ogle of Cosby; grandchildren Stephanie, Lauren, Danny, Brian, Joe, Derek, Alex, Jack, Hope, James, and Claire Wegerbauer, Andy, Katie and Adam Ogle; 13 great grandchildren. Joan was preceded in death by husband Tom, and beloved son Jon. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM.

Funeral services for Deven Lee Morris, age 32 of Cookeville, will be held Monday, June 5, 2023, beginning at 3:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home with Steve Jones officiating. He passed from this life Wednesday, May 24, 2023. Deven Lee Morris was born on July 6th, 1990, to Lori and Robert Morris in Milpitas California. As a young boy growing up, Deven played little league baseball and roller hockey, rode bikes, and did things little boys do. Deven and his family moved from California to Colorado where many adventures were had in the Rocky Mountains. Camping, fly fishing, and hunting upland game birds were activities he excelled in. In 2004 the family moved to Cookeville Tennessee. Deven attended Cookeville High School, and participated in the JROTC program, ascending to the position of Executive Officer. Deven graduated from Cookeville High School in 2008. Deven was skilled in several trades and worked locally as a machinist, building construction, restaurant chef, and caregiver for individuals with disabilities. Deven was a kind and compassionate person when kindness and compassion is lacking in today’s society. Deven was trusting and non-judgmental when those traits are rarely found. Deven was a Christian who believed in God and is now at peace in the arms of Jesus. Deven leaves behind a son, Lukas James Sloat-Morris (9), his son’s mother. Natalie Sloat-Webb & husband Josh, his parents, Robert and Lori Morris, Sisters Jenny Dorsett & husband Shane, Kristen Wilkinson and husband Scott, Brother Robert C Morris II and wife Tiffany, Grandmother Virginia Morris, Aunt Kathy Pena, among many other Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and friends.

Memorial Services for Adger “A.C.” Charles Sullivan, age 82 of Cookeville, will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, June 10, 2023, at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Tracy Curtis, Wayne Sullivan, and Eugene Cunningham officiating. A private burial will follow at a later date. He passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023. He was born May 23, 1941 in Spencer, and he was the son of the late Adger Sullivan and Connie Lawson Sullivan Madewell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Kewin Madewell; siblings, Sara Grimaldi, Evelyn Summerlin, Gewin Youngblood, Ruth Dodson, and Donnie Sullivan; and a great-grandson, JD Hyatt; all whom he loved very much. Survivors include: Sons- Mike Sullivan (Denise) and LaVaughn Smith; Daughter- Lisa Sullivan Scott; Grandchildren- Damon Scott, Paige Scott Reed (Lucas), Allan Smith, and Leslie Hyatt Goodwin; Great-Grandchildren- Andre Hyatt, Madison Maham, Austin Rodgers (Mackenzie), Trystin Scott, Ellis Reed, Anniston Reed, and Ezmay Reed, all whom he loved dearly. A.C. drove a truck, was Chief Deputy of Van Buren County, and worked as a civil engineer for TDOT for 35 years. He won many charity poker games and donated all the proceeds to benefit children. He loved sports of all kinds. To all the children he coached or umpired over the years, you know who you are, he truly loved and enjoyed each of you and hoped he left you better than he found you. He was full of pride and stories over the years. You made him happy with all the hours that were put in together. He would want to say thanks to Betty Sullivan, Janet Sullivan, special friend, Dorthy Kirby, and special family and friend, Carol and Bruce Stewart. Although times weren’t always easy, he loved each of you for taking such good care of him along the way. He also attended North Sparta Church of God. The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 12:00 PM until time of the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested if you have any photos, fond memories, or stories of A.C., please write them down and bring them to the family at the funeral home.

A memorial service for Kaleen Emlee Fahrner, 72 of Cookeville, will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023 at Presley Funeral Home with the Eddy Turner officiating. She died on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, at home surrounded by loved ones. Born Monday, June 5, 1950 in Bay City, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late William Ervin LeMere and the late Catherine Bowden LeMere. She was the wife of Ronald Fahrner. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Presley Funeral Home.

A Funeral service for Donald Paul Agee, 90 of Cookeville, will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Presley Funeral Home with Chaplain Matthew Finchum officiating. He died on Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at home surrounded by his family. Born Tuesday, January 3, 1933 in Detroit, Michigan, he was the son of the late Williard Agee and the late Florence Gase Agee. He was a Veteran of Korea. The family will receive friends from 2:30 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM.
