Mr. Fowler Low, age 86, of Cookeville, passed away Saturday October 13 at his home. Arrangements are incomplete.

Mrs. Kay Clark, age 95, passed away Saturday October 13 at Bailey Manor in Cookeville. Arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services for Charline Jones Farley, age 75 of Sparta, will be at 11:00 am Tuesday, October 16, 2018 in the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in the Nash Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm till 8:00pm on Monday evening. Bro. Bo Hendrix will officiate the services. Mrs. Farley passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018 at her residence. She was born July 3, 1943 in White Co.,TN to the late Charlie and Maude Exum Jones. She was also preceded in death by her husband: Roy Farley, sisters: Jewell Jones, Treva Rice, Willene Wilson, and Agnes Masters.

Funeral services for Eunice Avenell Adams, age 88, of Cookeville will be held Tuesday, October 16th, 2018 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Pastors Steve Thornton and Roger Cooper officiating. Interment will follow in Cookeville City Cemetery. Eunice Avenell Adams passed away Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at her home in Cookeville. She was born Friday, October 18, 1929 in Ferndale, Michigan to the late William Jason Alfrey and Della Callaway Alfrey. Mrs. Adams was a long time member of 15 Mile Free Will Baptist Church in Sterling Heights, Michigan. She will always be remembered as a loving, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, baking, and being a homemaker. She was very talented, sewing her children’s clothes. She also enjoyed collecting dolls. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: husband, John Adams, Sr.; son, Dennis Shellnut; sisters, Virginia Smith and Marie Caskey. She is survived by: her children, Brenda (Bernie) Morlock of Florida, Bonnie (Al) Leveque of Cookeville, John Adams, Jr. of Cookeville, and Chuck Adams of Cookeville; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; very special twin girls, (they were like her own children) Barbara and Brenda; many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Monday, October 15, 2018, 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Tuesday, October 16, 2018, 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at Presley Funeral Home.

Jeremy Flatt Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Woodcliff Cemetery. Mrs. Sparks Was Born On October 25, 1934, In Monterey, To The Late Roy And Vincie Holloway Williams. Mrs. Sparks Passed Away On Sunday, October 14, 2018, At NHC Healthcare In Cookeville. Mrs. Sparks Was A Homemaker. She Was A Member Of Millcreek Baptist Church. She Is Survived By, 3 Daughters And 2 Sons-In-Law, Donnia And Garry Johnson Of Algood, Christy Murphy Of Monterey, Misty And Tim Murphy Of Monterey; 1 Son And Daughter-In-Law, Ronnie And Sandra Sparks Of Monterey; 8 Grandchildren, Jeffery (Kayla) Sparks Of Monterey, Nikki Johnson Of Algood, Nolan Johnson Of Algood, Ethan Murphy Of Monterey, Allee (Taylor) Raines Of Cookeville; Kaitlyn Murphy Of Cookeville, Haylie Murphy Of Cookeville, And Hope Murphy Of Monterey; 8 Great Grandchildren, Lilianna Ringwald, Sydney Sparks, Madison Sparks, Arianna Sparks, Adailyn Sparks, Daniel Johnson, Taryn Atkins, And Morgan Raines; 2 Great Great Grandchildren, Adien Hernandez And Chloe Hernandez. In Addition To Her Parents, She Was Preceded In Death By Her Husband, Coy Sparks; And Grandson, Richard Sparks. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Tuesday, October 16, 2018, From 2:00 PM Until Time Of Service At 4:00 PM.

Memorial Services for William Robert Brooks, age 81, of Cookeville, will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday October 16 at Unity Church of the Cumberlands. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 p.m. until time of services at the church. Bill passed away suddenly Thursday October 11, 2018 at his home.

Graveside service for Margaret Ellen Hyde, age 42 of Monterey will be held Wednesday, October 17th at 11 a.m. at the Mayland Cemetery in Cumberland County. Margaret died on October 12, 2018 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 28, 1976 in Jacksonville, Florida to Alec and Mildred Moatts. She is survived by: Danny Hargis; her son, George Hyde Jr. of Doyle; step-daughter, Amanda Hargis of Rickman; step-sons, Benjamin (Nina) Hargis & Chris Hargis all of Cookeville and her grandchild, Hagen Cayd Ford. Visitation with the family will follow the burial.

A graveside service for James Boyd Turner, age 73 of White County, will be held at 1:30pm on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 at Peeled Chestnut Cemetery with Jeff Turner officiating. Mr. Turner passed away October 13, 2018 at Vanderbilt Hospital after an extended illness. Mr. Turner was born August 3, 1945, in White County. He was the son of Reece and Ruby Turner. He was preceded in death by his father (Reece Turner), two brothers (Reece Turner Jr. and Charles Elsie “Billy” Turner), a son (Stevie Turner-Snyder) and a daughter (Tammy Louise Turner). He is survived by his mother, Ruby Turner of Sparta; his daughter, Jamie (Wally) Rhea of McMinnville; two sister, Paulette (Ray) Pharris of Sparta and Joyce Randolph of Smithville; wife, Teresa Turner of Sparta; six grandchildren, Marla Snyder, Trent Snyder, and Brandy Snyder, all of Putnam County, and Jacob (Abbie) Argo and Hope Rhea, all of McMinnville. Several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends also survive. A visitation will be held at Oak Lawn Funeral Home from 10am until 1pm.

Funeral services for Paul Fox, age 85, of Cookeville will be held Wednesday, October 17th, 2018 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Presley Funeral Home with Johnny Fox and Mike Fox officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 16, 2018, 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM and Wednesday, October 17, 2018, 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Presley Funeral Home. Freeman Paul Fox passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at Bethesda Health Care in Cookeville, Tennessee. Freeman Paul Fox was born Friday, March 24, 1933 in Gainesboro, Tennessee to the late Marlin Fox and Rosie Estelle McBroom Fox. Paul was a minister in The Church of Christ for over fifty-three years, serving in congregations in Putnam and Jackson counties. He loved spending time with his family, camping, and Dollywood.

Funeral services for Mr. Fred Denton Gaw, age 71, of Rickman will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from the Rickman First Freewill Baptist Church, where his body will lie in repose from 12 noon until time of services. Burial will be in the Harris Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Gaw passed from this life on Saturday evening, October 13, 2018 at the Livingston Regional Medical Center. He was born in Overton County on March 7, 1947 to the late Fowler & Cleo Smith Gaw. Fred was a member of the Rickman First Freewill Baptist Church. He worked for many years at Berkline in Livingston. Fred loved to ride motorcycles, especially the back roads in the country. His joy was his grandchildren and spending time with them playing video games. Fred loved his little dog peanut and all his animals. He leaves his loving wife Rachel Harris Gaw of Rickman; God-Sons, Chris Mattheny & wife Heather of the Thorn Gap Community, Tyson Mattheney & wife Amber of Monterey, and Jason Harris of Cookeville; God-Daughter, Kelly Pendergrass & husband Sam of Rickman; brothers, Freeman Gaw of Rickman, and Ralph Gaw & wife Judy of Anderson, IN sisters, Betty Warden & husband Danny of Monterey, and Netta Rose of Rickman. In addition to his parents, Fred was preceded in death by his sister, Clydean Wilson. The family will welcome friends on Tuesday, October 16th from 5 until 9 p.m. at Speck Funeral Home.

Graveside services and interment of Louise Sliger Bockman, age 100 of Cookeville, will be Friday, October 19 at 11am in the Stewart Cemetery in Cookeville. Rev. Ernest Robertson will officiate. Mrs. Bockman quietly slipped from her earthly home into the arms of Jesus on March 27, 2018. Louise was born into life on October 26, 1917 in Cookeville, Tennessee. Her parents were Clyde and Rose Sliger and she was the fourth of nine children who grew up on the family farm. She attended Oak Grove Schools and was raised as a Christian in the Baptist Church near her home. In 1935, she married her school mate and the love of her life, Carl Bockman. After the birth of their first son, Ray, in 1937, the family moved to Los Angeles, California where Carl had been promised a job. Their second son, David, was born in Los Angeles in 1941, however, at the outbreak of the Second World War, Carl was drafted and the family moved back to Tennessee to be close to family. Carl was turned away from the Army and the family remained in Tennessee. Carl and Louise moved their family to Bakersfield, CA in 1956 when Carl was offered a job as a security officer. He later purchased and successfully managed the Alert Merchant Patrol for many years until his death at 58 in 1974.
