Mr. Daniel Weyker, 77 of Cookeville died Sunday March 8, 2020 at 10:11 p.m. in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral services fro Mrs. Sydney A. “Syd” Byrd, 72 of Cookeville will be held Tuesday March 10 at 11 a.m. at Algood United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Algood City Cemetery. Mrs. Byrd died Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 11:47 pm in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born January 7, 1948 in Baltimore, MD to the late William Sidney and Louise Denson. She earned a bachelor’s degree in social work from Towson State University in Maryland. Syd returned to school, serving as class president and graduating with honors from Tennessee Tech while earning a bachelor’s degree of nursing and beginning a career as a registered nurse. She was employed at Cookeville Regional Medical Center for 30 years in various roles, including as Nursing Director of the Medical Oncology Unit until her retirement. She was a member of the Tennessee Nursing Association, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Society and the Philanthropic Education Organization (P.E.O.). She was an active member of Algood United Methodist Church.Mrs. Byrd’s family will receive friends Monday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Tuesday from 10 a.m. until service time at Algood Methodist Church.

Funeral services for Patricia Ann Lane, age 67, of Cookeville, will be Tuesday March 10 at 1:00 pm in the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. John Nichols will officiate. Patricia passed away suddenly from injuries she received during storms early Tuesday morning March 3, 2020 in Cookeville. She was born November 21, 1952 in Jackson County, to the late Norman and Ellie Mea Hooten. Patricia was an active member of Collegeside Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughter, Traci Delk (Mitchell) of Hendersonville; son, David Lane (Paulette Wallace) of Cookeville; grandchildren, Maddison Lane, Darrin Lane (fiance, Rachel Liedel, Danielle Dales, Xander Delk, and Tiffany Wallace. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death three brothers, Jimmy, Joe, and Frank Hooten; and sister, Patty Hooten. Her family will receive friends Monday from 4 – 8 p.m. and again Tuesday from 11 a.m. until time of services.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kathy Bowman Burgess, 62, of Gainesboro, TN, will be held at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, March 10, 2020, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Lynn Cemetery in the Burristown community of Jackson County, TN. The family will receive friends on Monday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and again on Tuesday from 12 Noon until time of services. She passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born July 1, 1957, in Gainesboro, TN, to the late James Ralph Bowman and Betty Warren Bowman. On April 30, 1994, she was married to Bill Burgess, who survives. She was a factory worker and a member of the Burristown Assembly of God. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Sister: Melissa Bowman; 3 Aunts: Sylvia, Dutch, and Renie; and Maternal Grandparents: Bruce and Cynthia Ellis. Survivors include her Husband: Bill Burgess of Gainesboro, TN; 1 Daughter: Brandy (Marty) Davison of Walling, TN; 2 Grandchildren: Taylor (Lauren) Masters of Crossville and Brittany Masters of Cookeville; 3 Great Grandchildren: Fallon, Brittian, and Anniston Masters; 2 Sisters: Pat (David) Poston of Cookeville, and Jo Ann Bowman of Gainesboro; Nephew: Scott (Tonia) Wilson; and Great Niece: Abby (Jesse) Thornton.

Funeral Service for Bridgett Ann-Marie McCormick, age 13 of Cookeville, will begin at Sycamore Church of Christ on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 2:00PM. Interment at Fraziers Chapel Cemetery. she went to be with the Lord on March 3, 2020 in Cookeville. Bridgett was born in Cookeville to Billi-Jo Hutson and Micheal McCormick on August 17, 2006. Described by her beloved brother, Ethan, Bridgett was in one word, a “mess”. She was all over the place, all the time. She always had a smile on her face, but was never afraid to lay down the law. She was always doing Tik Toks and eating. She was so goofy, and the sweetest, most caring, bossy, young lady, ever. She loved her friends; Charity, Tim, Zoey, Shelby, Rhiana, Charles, K.J., Aiden, Kyle, Kayla, Jett, Jaycee, and especially her very special friends, Mike and Kim Phillips. Bridgett is preceded in death by her grandfather, John Shiferdek; Aunts, Brittany Grooverd and Melinda McCormick; and uncle, Justin McCormick. She is survived by her mother, Billi-Jo Hutson; Father, Micheal McCormick; Brother, Ethan McCormick; Sister, Kaitlin McCormick; Grandmothers, Teresa Shiferdek and Sally McCormick; Countless Aunts and Uncles; Several cousins; and many friends – All who loved her dearly. The family will accept visitors on Monday, March 9, 2020 from 4:00PM until 8:00PM in the chapel of Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta, Tennessee. The family will also accept visitors on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Sycamore Church of Christ in Cookeville, Tennessee.

A celebration of life for Leisha Elizabeth Rittenberry, age 28, will take place at Presley Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 2pm-6pm. She went to heaven to be with the angels March 3, 2020. She was born to Melissa Ray and Doug Gaskin on November 26, 1991. Liz graduated from Monterey High School, class of 2011. She was a customer service rep at Speedway of Lebanon for two years. She will be missed by the regulars at Speedway. Liz had a huge heart and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need. She never knew a stranger and was loved by anyone who met her. Liz loved listening to music, making videos on TikTok, singing karaoke and spending time with her friends and family. She is survived by her loving fiancé of three years, Jon Letts; mother Melissa Ray; father Doug Gaskin; brother Jesse Gaskin; grandmother Patricia Klatt; aunt Levonne Macomson; aunt Natalie Bowen; cousins Courtney Bowen, Bradley Bowen, Kathleen Bucey, Kevin Cornett, Susan Cornett, Mandy Peterson; aunt Kathy; aunt Betsy; God son Dominic Rittenberry; mother-in-law Jessica Cline and numerous other family and friends. Liz was preceded in death by her grandpa Arlo L Peterson; grandpa Lloyd Klatt; grandpa Jesse Gaskin; grandma Bobbie Gaskin; uncle Russ Peterson; uncle Patrick Klatt and cousin Timmy Cornett.

Funeral services for Betty Joyce Bennett, age 79, of Cookeville, will be Tuesday March 10 at 3:30 pm in the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Kevin Daughrity will officiate. Interment will follow in the Maxwell Cemetery South. Betty passed away Thursday March 5, 2020 at NHC of Cookeville. She was born June 8, 1940 in Cookeville to the late Olon Maxwell and Myrtle Moss Maxwell. Betty was a member of Sycamore Church of Christ and former member of Crossville Church of Christ. She worked as a register nurse at Cookeville General Hospital (CRMC) prior to becoming homemaker and raising her children. Betty enjoyed volunteering in different capacities at church and school. Later in life she enjoyed being active in the Cookeville Senior Citizens Center. She is survived by her daughter, Gina Pruitt of Hermitage; son, Chris (Linda) Bennett of Crossville; three brothers, Charles (Linda) Maxwell, Roney (Marsha) Maxwell, Steven (Jeraldine) Maxwell all of Baxter; four grandchildren, Tyler (Haley) Bennett; Ashley Bennett, Bennett Pruitt, and Camille Pruitt. Her family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 p.m. until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer’s TN, 390 S Lowe Ave Suite I, Cookeville, TN 38501.

Funeral Services for Mr. Clyde Hershell Taylor, age 83, of Hilham will be conducted 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Phillip Morgan will officiate. Burial to follow in the Maxwell Chapel Cemetery. Mr. Taylor passed from this life on Saturday evening, March 7, 2020 from the Livingston Regional Hospital. He was born in Jackson County, to the late Norman & Velma Coffman Taylor. Clyde was a member of the New Hope Community Church. He loved and enjoyed his family, and working on his farm with his cattle. Above all he loved the Lord. Clyde leaves behind his Daughters, Sharon Ayers & husband Steve of Hilham, Barbara Carver & husband Robert of Hilham, and Diane Brown of Jacksonville, FL; son, Doug Taylor of Nashville; grandchildren, Penny Cummings & husband Billy of Hilham, Chris Ayers of Hilham, Shirley McDonald of Livingston, Ethan Taylor & wife Sheena of Hilham, and Macy Taylor of Hilham; great-grandchildren, Peyton McDonald, Mitchell Ayers, Samuel Ayers, Carson Walker, Tessarae Cummins, Dalton Cummins, Zeke Taylor, and Gracelyn Taylor; brother, Gerstle Taylor of Hilham; niece, Rita Nivens; and several cousins. In addition to his parents, Clyde was preceded in death by his wife, Maggie Julene Carwile Taylor and daughter, Phyllis Hix. He passed away at surrounded by family, Sunday, March 8, 2020. He was born on March 25, 1940 in Sparkman Town, to the late Willard Allen and Adalene McCormick Cole. David was a loving Husband, Father and Friend. He had a passion for old vehicles and antique tractors. He was an inventor and problem fixer with machinery. He enjoyed watching Nascar races, ME TV and RFD- TV in his down time. He loved his church community and taking care of Jericho Cemetery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his; Daughter- Lee Ann Cole. David is survived by; Loving Wife of 60 years- Mary Hollingsworth Cole of Sparta; Daughters- Mary Carolyn Farley of Hernando, FL and Mary Elizabeth Reed of Cookeville; Granddaughter- Rebecca Lynn Jones of Sparta; Grandson- Joseph Howell (Roxann) of Sparta; Great-Grandsons- Caleb and Ethan Jones; Sisters- Brenda Poston of Sparta, Joyce Cash of Sparta, and Pat Gentry of Sparta; Brother- Ralph Cole of Sparta. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. In Lieu of Flowers, the family wishes donations to be made to Jericho Cemetery.

Funeral services for Ms. Linda Carolyn Denton, age 70 of Quebeck, will be conducted 3:00pm Wednesday, March 11, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Jericho Cemetery. She passed away Saturday evening, March 7, 2020 at NHC of Sparta. Linda was born February 16, 1950 in Sparta, Tennessee to the late Loyd Moore & Vera Christine Spakes Denton. She worked over 30 years at what was then known as Wagner and then several years at Wal-Mart. She was a devoted caregiver to her late parents. Linda was an animal lover, she fed animals of all kinds around her home from cats to deer. She even named the deer that ran behind her home. Christmas was her favorite time of year, she would decorate her home and yard and loved to cook for the holidays as well. When she managed the shipping department at Wagner, she would often cook and make goodies for the drivers. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5-8:00pm at Hunter Funeral Home. Josh Myers will officiate.

Funeral services for Patricia McNeal, 62, of Cookeville will be held Thursday at 12 noon at Brotherton Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Brotherton Cemetery. Patricia’s family will receive friends Wednesday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and Thursday from 10 a.m. until service time at the chruch. She died Saturday, March 7 at 1:06 pm at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services for Mr. David W. Maxwell, Jr., age 94 of Baxter, will be held Thursday, March 12th at 1:00 p.m. at the Baxter chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment with military honors will follow at Samuel Maxwell Cemetery. His family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again Thursday from 11:00 a.m until service time at the Baxter chapel. Mr. Maxwell died Saturday evening, March 7th at 9:22 p.m. at his residence.

Funeral services for Hattie Jo Collins, 4 year old daughter of Matt and Macy England Collins of Cookeville, will be held Friday March 13 at 11 a.m. at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. Hattie Jo passed away Tuesday morning March 3, 2020. Hattie’s family will receive friends Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until service time at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ.

Funeral services for Eunie Marie Randolph, age 82 of Baxter, will be held Friday, March 13, 2020 beginning at 1:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral with Bro. Jerry Buckner and Bro. Corey Price officiating. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. She passed from this life Sunday, March 8, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Thursday, July 29, 1937 in Baxter. She was the daughter of the late O.W. and Ethel (Allison) Dilldine. Marie was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and friend to all who knew her. She was of the Baptist Faith. She loved gardening and raising flowers. Marie is survived by her Husband: Clayton C. Randolph of Baxter. 1 Son and Daughter-in-law: Mike and Aimee Randolph of Baxter; 2 Grandchildren: Carter Clay Randolph of Baxter, Katie Beth Randolph of Baxter; A host of Nieces, Nephews, and Cousins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 1 Brother: W. Gene Dilldine. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, March 12, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm and again on Friday March, 13, from 10:00 am until time of service at 1:00 pm.

Memorial services for Mrs. Bettie Louise Maxwell , age 88, of Cookeville, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday March 14 at Dyer Funeral Home with her son, Michael Maxwell officiating. Bettie passed away Thursday March 5, 2020 at Bethesda Health Care. Her family will receive friends Saturday March 14, 2020 from 1 p.m until service time.

Graveside Services for Paul Garrison, age 81 of Cookeville will be held March 28, 2020 at Boma Cemetery. He passed from this Wednesday, February 19, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born Monday, March 28, 1938 in Gainesboro, Tennessee. He was the son of the late Vestel and Annie (Ramsey) Garrison. Paul was a Machinist and retired from Clawson, Michigan. The family has chosen cremation.
