Mr. Troy Hatcher 94 of Cookeville died Saturday June 27, 2020 in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete.

Mark Andrew Jacklich,68, of Sparta, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2020 at his home. No services are planned at this time.

Freddie Whittaker, Age 73, Of Crossville,Formerly Of The Sand Springs Community Passed Away On Monday, June 29, 2020, At His Home. Arrangements are incomplete.

Funeral Services with Full Military Honors for Donald Howard Cowan age 70, of Cookeville will be held on Tuesday June 30, 2020 at 11:00am from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Family and Friends will serve as Pallbearers. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Monday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and on Tuesday from 8:00am until time of services at 11:00am. Donald Howard Cowan was born on December 5, 1949 in Detroit Michigan to the late Willie “Bud” Cowan and Jeweldean “Judy” Bowman Hutchison. Donald spent his career in the Military, both in the Navy and Marines. While in the Military, He served in Vietnam, was a search and rescue swimmer and instructor, was a helicopter mechanic and spent time on many aircraft carriers. Donald was very proud of his military service. Donald was also a Christian and attended Life Church of Cookeville. He was a loving Father, grandfather, brother uncle and friend.

Funeral services for Mr. James Lee “Joe” Hix, age 76 of Cookeville will be held Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Conrad officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. Due to Covid-19 precautions social distance measures will be encouraged. Joe passed away Friday evening June 26, 2020 at his home. Joe graduated from Putnam County Senior High School and attended Tennessee Tech. Joe served twenty years with Associates Financial Services. After moving to Cookeville, he began his banking career with the former Citzens Bank. He later worked with Union Planters and Jackson Bank and Trust and retired from Putnam 1st Merchantile Bank.He was active in all youth sports; serving as a TSSAA basketball official for more than 25 years. He was a long-time clock operator for TTU Basketball Games and member of the Cookeville Cavaliers Chain Gang.Joe will be remembered by family and friends as a caring, giving man who was always looking for ways to help people.Joe is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sue Jackson Hix (whom he married August 5, 1967 in Franklin County); two sons, Eric (Susan) Hix of Knoxville and Kevin (Jennifer) Hix of Chattanooga; a sister, Linda Hix of Cookeville; four grandchildren, Beth Anne Hix, Jackson Hix. Lauralee Hix, and Emmett Hix. His family will receive friends Tuesday from 11 a.m until service time at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Skippy Joe Qualls, age 53, of Livingston will be conducted 2 p.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from the Livingston Funeral Home Chapel. Bro. Phillip Buck will officiate. Burial to follow in the Okolona Cemetery. The family will welcome friends on Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. at Livingston Funeral Home. Mr. Skippy Joe Qualls passed from this life on Saturday afternoon, June 27, 2020 from his residence in Livingston. He was born in Overton County, on July 5, 1966 to the late Luther & Norma Ruth Lee Qualls. Skippy was Baptist in Faith and attended the Holy Ghost Ministry. He was a people person who never met a stranger, and enjoyed meeting new people. Skippy loved taking his daughters anywhere they wanted to go, from riding around, water parks, to the fair, and school. He was well liked, and loved everyone. Skippy was a jokester and enjoyed cutting up with his family and friends, and always looked at the brighter side of life. Skippy leaves behind his loving friend of 10 years, Roxanne Reagan of Livingston, TN; daughters, Miley Joe & Jamie Lee Qualls both of Livingston, TN; brother, Rick Qualls of Livingston, TN; and sister, Janie Walker of Livingston, TN.

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Katherine Dilldine Mabe, age 86 of the Cedar Creek Community, will be conducted 2:00pm Tuesday, June 30, 2020 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial to follow in Taylors Providence Cemetery. She passed away Sunday morning, June 28, 2020 at her residence. Mrs. Mabe was born May 30, 1934 in Sparta, Tennessee. She worked in shirt factories and then started at Wagner the day they opened their doors and worked until she was able to retire. She loved to go to yard sales enough so that she would look them up in the paper and map out her day according to where they were going to be that day. As much as she loved going to yard sales, her passion was spoiling her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 10:00am until service time Tuesday at Hunter Funeral Home. Philip Luna will officiate and music by Ronnie Prater.

Graveside Services for Bobbie Ruth Loftis, Age 62, of Bloomington Spring, formerly of Putnam County, will be held on June 30, 2020 at 2:00pm at the McHenry Family Cemetery With Bro. Bob Pharris officiating. Bobbie Ruth Loftis was born on September 5, 1957 in Putnam County to the late Virgil Kenneth Stout and June McHenry Stout, she passed away at her home on June 20, 2020.

Funeral services for Bobby “BOB” Edward Burton, 83 of Silver Point, will be Wednesday, July 1st at 1 PM at Silver Point Church of Christ. Bro. Luke Wilken and Bro. John Whitson will officiate. Interment will follow in G.V. Herren Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home Tuesday from 4 to 8 PM and at the church Wednesday from 11 AM until service time. Friends are invited to come by the funeral home to sign the guest book and pay their respects. Due to Covid-19, social distance measures will be observed. Mr. Burton died Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born April 13, 1937 in the Shaw Branch Community of Jackson County to the late Bill and Bertie Willoughby Burton. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers: Ott, Carl, John and Martin Burton. He was a member of Silver Point Church of Christ. He was retired from McCord’s of Cookeville and served at the Silver Point Convenience Center. He enjoyed volleyball, whittling and spending time with family and friends.

Funeral services for I V Byers, 79, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 P.M. on Wednesday, July 1, 2020, at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the Byers Cemetery in the Center Grove community. Survivors include her Husband: Louis Byers of Cookeville; 3 Sons: Kelly (Sharon) Byers of Cookeville, Alan (Angie) Byers of Baxter, Brent (Laura) Byers of Cookeville; 2 Daughters: Donna (James) Dennis of Cookeville, and Sheila (Mark) Oakley of Cookeville; Grandchildren: Amanda Smith, Brandon Dennis, Andrew Byers, Andrea Martin, Megan Broman, Mary Alice Bales, Kaylin Byers, Clay Byers, Hannah Beth Byers, Ryleigh Byers, Sophea Byers, Braxton Bennett, and Shelby Pullum; 8 Great Grandchildren; 2 Sisters: M B Ragland and Marie Johnson, both of Gainesboro; and many close friends and relatives.The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Wednesday from 11 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral services for Mr. Gary Dale Allison, age 68 of Gordonsville and formerly of Baxter, will be held Wednesday, July 1st at 4pm at Dyer Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Allison Cemetery. Mr. Allison died Saturday June 27, 2020 at Riverview Regional Medical Center. Gary is survived by his wife of 20 years, Vicki Kay Martin Allison; stepson, Brian (Shelby) Bennett of Cookeville, stepdaughter, Katie Bennett of Carthage; daughters, Bridgett Goff of Cookeville and Rhiannon Allison of Cookeville; grandchildren, Camden Bennett, Caleb and Cassidy Goff and Austin and Angeline Peet; brother, Herbert (Patsy) Allison of Baxter; and by sister, Roxanne Carmack of Hilham; Pallbearers will be family and friends.In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to Dyer Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
His family will receive friends Wednesday from 1pm until service time at the funeral home. Due to COVID-19 precautions, social distancing will be observed.

Funeral services for Bessie Mae Griner, age 97 of Cookeville, will be held on Thursday, July 2, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at West Cemetery (North). Visitation with the family will be held on Wednesday from 3:00-8:00P.M. and Thursday 9:00 A.M. till time of the service at 11:00. Mrs. Griner passed away on June 26, 2020. She attended Shipley Church and was loved as a Quilting Artist. Bessie was born on January 26, 1923 in Putnam County, Tennessee to the late Lewis A. and Allie C. (Countiss) Gentry.
