Hector Valdez Betancourt, 46 of Gainesboro, passed from this life Thursday, May 2, 2019, at his home in Gainesboro. He was born Tuesday, November 21, 1972 in Luis Moya Zac, Mexico He was the son of the late Jose Valdez Hernandez and Amelia Betancourt Delgado. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, and friend to all who knew him. He will always be loved. In addition to his mother he is survived by his wife of 20 years: Susan Valdez of Gainesboro, 1 Daughter, 6 Sons, 1 Grandson. The family has chosen cremation and a private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Mrs. Mary Lucille Burgess, age 73 of Crossville, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at Cumberland Medical Center in Crossville. Born Monday, June 11, 1945 in Crossville, she was the daughter of the late L.D. Randolph and the late Ruby Anderson Randolph. A memorial service will be held at a later date at Smith’s Chapel Free Will Baptist Church in Pleasant Hill.
Marjorie Claire (Burrows) Mayer, 93 of Sparta, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019, at her home. She was born Wednesday, August 12, 1925 in Watertown, New York. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Schu. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date in New York.

A Memorial service for Mrs. Pansy Marie Robinson age 63 of Allons, is scheduled for Friday, May 3, 2019 at 6 PM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston. Mrs. Robinson passed away from this life on Wednesday, May 01, 2019 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center. The family has chose cremation at her request. Mrs. Pansy Marie Robinson was born in Livingston, on April 4, 1956 to Bertha (Flowers) Taylor and the late Odis Garrett.. Pansy worked as a cook in restaurants through out her life. She loved her family very much. Survivors: 2 Sons: Brandon Robinson and his wife Angie, Nathan Robinson and his wife Carolina; Mother: Bertha Taylor; 2 Sisters: Doe Webb, Gail Wilson; 2 Brothers: Donnie Garrett, Jimmy Storie; 2 Grandchildren: Emma Robinson, Evan Robinson; along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Family will receive friends on Friday, May 3, 2019 at the funeral home starting at 5 PM until the service at 6 PM.
Funeral services for Magdalena Pascual Sebastian will be Saturday, May 4th at 10:00 a.m. at Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. She died on April 26, 2019 from injuries received in an automobile accident. Burial will be in Guatemala at a later date.
Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Whitson Berry, 86, of Gainesboro, will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, May 4, 2019, at Anderson – Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro. Burial will follow in the John L. Clark Memorial Cemetery in the Stone community. She passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2019, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born June 10, 1932, in Cookeville, to the late Dave Whitson and Della Mae Whitson. On September 15, 1953, she was married to the late Gilbert McCawley Berry, who passed away May 4, 2016. She was retired from Twin Lakes Telephone Co. after 38 years of service. She was a member of the Gainesboro First United Methodist Church, and enjoyed volunteering at church and socializing with others. Survivors include 1 Brother: David (Camille) Whitson of Brentwood; 1 Sister: Ruth Whitson (Ray) Speer of Mt. Juliet; 2 Nephews: Roy (Beth) Speer and David (Megan) Whitson; 2 Nieces: Kathy Gregory and husband, David Wilson, and Elizabeth (Joel) Nelson; and Caregivers: Kay Kirby, Rebecca Head, Shirley Harper, and Nancy Crowder. 6 Great Nephews, 3 Great Nieces, and 2 Great Great Nephews also survive. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Saturday from 10 A.M. until time of services. Funeral Services for Mr. Ernest Edward Eldridge, age 79, of Alpine will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, May 4, 2019 from the chapel of Speck Funeral Home. Bro. Aaron Dillon will officiate. Burial will follow in the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Ernest passed from this life in the comfort of his home on Wednesday afternoon, May 1, 2019. He was born in Overton County Tennessee on September 29, 1939 to the late Edgar “Ed” & Edith Tennessee Christian Eldridge. Ernest was a 1958 graduate of Livingston Academy. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Ernest was a member of the Church of Christ. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was a big cut up. Ernest enjoyed farming and mowing. His favorite joy was his wife and family. Ernest leaves behind his loving wife of 56 years, Mrs. Anna Joyce Ruble Eldridge of Alpine; sons, Shannon Eldridge & wife Jennifer of Rickman, and Sean Eldridge & wife Lisa of the Dodson Branch Community; daughter, Tammy Brown & husband Irvin of Alpine, and special daughter, Jamie Burnette of Livingston; grandchildren, Courtney Vaughn, Ty Eldridge, Taylor Eldridge, Paxton Eldridge, Gage Vaughn, Wade Eldridge, Kylar Eldridge, and Briley Eldridge; great-grandchildren, Ellie Sells, and Myah Eldridge. In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by his brothers, Fallor Eldridge, and Harold Eldridge; sisters, Mary Ruth Copeland, Dean Warden, Myrtle Allred, Helen McCauley, Irene Brown, and Pearl Elrod. Interment will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. Reba passed from this life on Monday, April 29, 2019, at her home. Reba was born Wednesday, June 11, 1930, in Livingston, and she was the daughter of the late Ance Mitchell and Ila Mae (Smith) Dale. Reba was a loving Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mama, and Granny. She worked outside the home at Fleetuard for about 30 years where she was an inspector. Reba was extremely gifted and would be known to tackle anything someone needed to be done. She was a wonderful seamstress and she even helped build a house. She loved working outside, especially with her flowers. Reba was a faithful Christian all of her life and was baptized at a young age. Reba is survived by: 3 Children: Betty and Bob Davidson, Ronald and Beverly Smith, Donald and Melissa Gaw; 12 Grandchildren; 17 Great-Grandchildren; Brother: Bobby Dale. In addition to her parents, Reba was preceded in death by First husband, Odus Maccum Smith; Son, Michael Ray Smith; Second husband, Dale Gaw; and Brother, Earl Ray Dale. Burial will follow in the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville. He passed away peacefully on May 2, 2019, in his home. He was born January 6, 1929, on Hiwassee Ridge in Jackson County, to the late Burton Uriah Fox and Essie Cleo Burgess Fox. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma C. Fox; daughter, Karen Fox; brother, Leonard Fox; sister, Helen Fox Robinson; brother, Howard Fox; brother, Alford Fox; brother, Bobby Davis Fox; brother, Ernest Fox; and 2 brothers-in-law, James Robinson and Roy Mundy. He began farming for his family at age 11. He was a dozer owner and operator for 50 years. He is survived by his son, Gary (Joy) Fox of Bloomington Springs; daughter, Amy Fox of Cookeville, TN; Grandchildren: Bryann (Amy) Fox, Don Holloway III, Kelly (Landon) Gaw, Heather (Tommy) Moore, Elana (Chris) Newton and a Fox pack of great and great great grandchildren; Brothers: Hulon “Fuzz” (Carolyn) Fox, Jerry (Linda) Fox, and Roger (Linda) Fox; Sisters: Anna (Ross) Carroll of Athens; Treva Mundy of Jamestown; and 2 Sisters-in-Law: Rose Fox of Rome, GA, and Georgia Fox of Cookeville; and a Fox pack of nieces and nephews and special friends.
