Obituaries For Friday, July 24

Ann Maria Hannah, age 90 of Silver Point, passed away Thursday morning July 23, 2020 at Signature Health Care of Putnam County. Due to Covid-19 precautions, private services will be held Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home.

Graveside services for Christopher Joseph Wilson, age 29 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Cookeville City Cemetery. Pastor Thelma Roby will officiate. Christopher passed away Wednesday July 22, 2020 at his home.

Funeral services for Virgie Nell Guess, 95, of Hermitage, formerly of Jackson County, will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2020, at 11 A.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home in Gainesboro, TN. Burial will follow in the Guess Cemetery on Huff Hollow Road. The family will receive friends on Friday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Saturday from 9 A.M. until time of services. She passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Lakeshore Heartland in Donelson, TN. She was born September 12, 1924, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Marlin Tayse and Mary Greenarch Tayse. On November 25, 1947, she was married to the late Dave Guess. She retired from working at the Granville Marina, then worked as a caregiver until age 85. She was a member of the Big Branch Church of Christ, and then the Liberty Church of Christ. Survivors include 1 Daughter: Sharon and her husband, Dwight Henderson of Hermitage, TN; 1 Son in Law: Ted Warden of Granville, TN.

Funeral Services for Joyce Clark Phillips Lemons, age 79 of Spring City and formerly of Overton County, will be Held on Sunday at 2:00pm from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home in Cookeville. The burial will follow in the Warren Cemetery. Joyce was born in Overton County on June 23, 1941 to the Late Orvin and Edna West Clark. She passed away on July 21, 2020 at Saint Thomas West Hospital surrounded by Family. Survivors include her two sons, Melvin and Shawn of Cookeville. The Family will receive friends on Saturday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the Funeral Home and on Sunday from 12:00pm until time of services at 2:00pm. They ask that you please wear a face mask and practice social distance guidelines while visiting the funeral home.

Funeral Services For Donald Ray Buckner, Age 76 of Monterey,  Will Be Conducted On Sunday, July 26, 2020, At 2:00 PM From The Chapel Of Goff Funeral Home. Dr. Eddie Poole Will Officiate With Interment To Follow In The Welch Memorial Cemetery. Mr. Buckner Was Born On July 19, 1944, In Monterey, Tennessee, To The Late George And Willie Geneva Eads Buckner. Mr. Buckner Passed Away On Thursday, July 23, 2020, At His Home. Mr. Buckner Was Retired From Oscar Mayer Meats In Goodlettsville, Tennessee, With 24 Years Of Service. He Loved Collecting And Restoring Antique Cars And Trucks. He Loved And Adored His Grandchildren And Was Known As “Papa”. He Is Survived By His Wife, Virginia Poole Buckner Of Monterey, TN; 1 Son, David Glenn Buckner Of Dickson. The Family Will Receive Friends At Goff Funeral Home On Sunday, July 26, 2020, From 12:00 PM Until Time Of Services At 2:00 PM.

Graveside services and interment for Mary Ann Gibbons, age 81 of Cookeville, will be Sunday July 26 at 4:00 p.m. at Double Springs Cemetery. She died Thursday July 23 at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. No visitation will be held at the funeral home.

Funeral services for Della Jane Williams, age 90 of Monterey, will be held on Monday at 1:00pm from the Chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Bro. Ronald Allen will officiate at the service and Family and friends will serve as Pallbearers. The Burial will follow at the West Cemetery (Fairview). Della was born on November 21, 1929 in Putnam County to the late Ed and Willie Gaw and passed away on July 22, 2020 in Cumberland County surrounded by loved ones. Her survivors include her sons; Danny Warden, Ralph Henley, Charles Henley and Jimmy Henley. The family will receive friends at the Funeral Home, on Sunday from 6:00pm until 8:00pm and on Monday from 11:00am until time of services at 1:00pm.

A Celebration of Life for Anna Marie Dixon, age 79 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, July 28, 2020, from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Life Church of Livingston. Mrs. Dixon passed away on Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Anna was a loving daughter, sister, wife, Mom, Grandma, and friend. She was quiet, easy-going, and very loving. She was often seen sitting on the porch with the grandkids watching the ducks overlooking the water. Anna is survived by, Husband, Sid Dixon; 4 Children, Kim and Greg Waymaster, Mark and Nancy Dixon, Cora Dixon, and John and Hannah Dixon.
