Clifford Phipps, Age 78 Of Cookeville, Passed Away On Friday, August 6 At His Home. Funeral Arrangements Are Incomplete.

Judith Leniece Hunter, 69 of Sparta, passed away on August 5 in Sparta. Her pride and joy were her daughter and grandchildren. A Private service will be held at a later date, per family and Ms. Hunters request.

Funeral services for Mr. Kerlee Adcock, age 88 of Walling, will be conducted 1:00pm Saturday, August 7 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Spring Hill Cemetery. Mr. Adcock passed away on Tuesday, August 3 at his residence. He retired from Mallory and was an avid farmer and fisherman. Simply put, Kerlee was a good man who enjoyed working, farming, fishing and family. When he could not work out on the farm, he enjoyed watching the hummingbirds from his living room. He proudly served his country in the United States Army while stationed in Germany. Surviving family members include his wife, Jean Adcock; daughter, Selina (Tim) Ross, and step-children, Sandra (J.D.) Hanna, Faye (John ) Mitchell, Cheryl (Ken) Hatfield, Evonne (Jeff) Higgins, and Steve Marsh. The family will receive friends after 11:00am Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Kimberly Redman, age 58 of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 beginning at 2:00 pm from the chapel of Crest Lawn Funeral Home, with Pastor Bo Hendrix officiating. Interment will follow in Sand Springs Memorial Garden. She passed from this life Thursday, August 5, 2021, at her home in Cookeville. Born Saturday, December 8, 1962 in Cookeville, TN, she was the Daughter of Betty Henry and the late Jarvis Henry. She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister, and friend to all who knew her. She worked many years at Cookeville Regional Medical Cener. She liked reading and spending time with the Grandchildren. In addition to her Mother Betty Henry, Kim is survived by 1 Daughter Stacey Slaven and her best friend Candace Pollitt of Cookeville; 2 Sons and 1 Daughter-in-law Danny and Tiffany Redman of Sparta, Andy Redman and Fiancé Haley Bowman of Cookeville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, August 7, from 12:00 noon until the time of service at 2:00 pm.

Funeral services for Frances “Frankie” Mae Owen, 83 of Baxter, will be Saturday, August 7 at 2 PM at the Baxter Chapel of Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Smellage Memory Gardens in the Boma Community. Bro. Herb Leftwich will officiate. Mrs. Owen died Tuesday August 3, 2021 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Frankie worked as a server at Cracker Barrel for 13 years before retiring. She enjoyed baking for others, gardening, crafting and taking care of grandchildren/great-grandchildren. Survivors include her children, SuSu Franklin, Lisa (Jody) Swindle, and Patrick Liggett. The family will receive friends Friday from 4 to 8 PM and after 10 AM Saturday until service time at the funeral home.

Graveside services and interment for Mary Frances Hitchcock, age 90 of Cookeville, will be Sunday, August 8 at 2 PM at Brown’s Mill Cemetery. Pastor Maston Jackson will officiate. Mrs. Hitchcock passed away Thursday morning August 5 at Signature Health Care of Putnam County. Known as Mema, she loved her family and prayed for each one every night. She faithfully attended Hampton’s Crossroads Baptist Church. She enjoyed an abundance of love from her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Frances previously worked at Wilson Sporting Goods and enjoyed driving cars for Ford and Toyota with her husband, Howard. She and Howard spent many hours together finding and restoring antiques. She is survived by her children, Glen (Reba) Hitchcock daughter, and Kathy (Tracy) Daugherty. Memorial donations may be made to Brown’s Mill Cemetery Fund, c/o Cora Norris, 3198 Browns Mill Road, Cookeville, TN 38506 or Hampton’s Crossroads Baptist Church OCC Fund, 109 Stallion Road, Cookeville, TN 38506. J.L. “Chip” Pennington Will Officiate. Mrs. Pennington Passed Away On Thursday, July 29 At Her Home. Mrs. Pennington Was A Loving And Devoted Wife, Mother, Grandmother, And Great Grandmother. She Was A Teacher, Interpreter For The Deaf, Artist, Crafter, Counselor, Missionary, And A College Professor. She Is Survived By Her Husband, Rev. J.L. “Chip” Pennington; Daughters, Kelly Jo Pennington Rose And Mark Rose, Amy Beth Pennington Springs And Elbert Springs; and Sons, Jeffrey Lyle Pennington And Cynthia Dewitte, Caleb Pennington, and Exequel Pennington. Memorial Services for Zada “Marie” Eller, 91 of Sparta, will be held on Sunday, August 8 at Plainview Church of Christ Hwy 84, in Sparta at 2:30 PM with Bro. Earl Alverson and Dan Gulley officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday, at the church, from 1:30 PM till the time of service. Mrs. Eller passed away on Saturday, July 31 at her home surrounded by family. She was a member of Plainview Church of Christ. She was the owner of All Occasions Cake shop. She loved her children, and grandchildren. She loved spending time with her family and playing board games. Survivors include her Husband of 23 Years, Herman Earl Eller; and children, Terry (Pam) Parks, Sharon (David) Trisdale, Cheryl (Carl) Hitchcock, Vickie Randolph, and Earlene (Jerry) Steakley. The family will receive friends on Sunday, at the church, from 1:30 PM till the time of service.

Funeral services for Aaron Rabbit Tayse, 89, of Cookeville, TN, will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021, at 3 P.M. at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home. He passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born March 12, 1932, in Jackson County, TN, to the late Elijah Tayse and Gusty Lee Dyer Tayse. On November 26, 1978, he was married to Joyce Edwina Denson Tayse, who survives. He worked as an auto mechanic. Survivors include his Wife: Joyce Edwina Denson Tayse of Cookeville, TN; Sons: Russell Tayse of Cookeville, TN, and Arvil Tayse of Sparta, TN; Daughters: Barbara Sue Cherry of Cookeville, TN, Lora Martin of Cookeville, TN, and Heather Tayse of Cookeville, TN; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. Bro. Bobby Floyd will officiate at the services. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 4 P.M. – 8 P.M., and Sunday from 11 A.M. until time of services.

Funeral services for Mrs. Sylvia “Sammy” Florence McGee, age 84 of Cookeville, will be held Tuesday, August 10th at 1:00 p.m. in the Cookeville chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Cookeville City Cemetery. Rev. Michael McLaughlin will officiate. Mrs. McGee died Thursday August 5, 2021 at her residence. Her family will receive friends Monday evening, August 9th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and again Tuesday from 12:00 p.m. until service time at the funeral home.

A Memorial Service for Timothy Wayne George, 57 of Spencer, will be held on Tuesday, August 10 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home at 6 PM with Bro. Donnie Lawson officiating. Mr. George passed away at his home on Tuesday, August 3. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, woodworking, and spending time with his children and grandson. Survivors include his daughters, Sasha Heiser (Jason) of McMinnville, Brittany George (Raouf) of Ypsilanti, MI, and Rozalyn Woods of Petersburg, MI. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, at the funeral home, from 4 PM till the time of service.

Memorial services for Marion Lela Bohannon, age 101 of Cookeville, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday August 11 at Hooper Huddleston Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Gary Lee will officiate. An Order of Eastern Star Ceremony will begin at 6:15 p.m. Mrs. Bohannon passed away Saturday July 17 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. Mrs. Bohannon was a member of Salem Church in Cookeville. She served on various community boards including Cookeville Rescue Mission, Salvation Army, and Putnam County Clearing House. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post 46, Putnam County Kiwanis, and Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 152. She is survived by her grandson, Erik (Shannon) Augustson. Memorial contributions may be made to Putnam County Kiwanis, P.O. Box 9, Cookeville, TN 38503; or an organization of choice. Visitation for family and friends will be Wednesday from 5:30 p.m. until time of services.

Celebration of Life Services for Mrs. Carol Sue Copeland, age 78 of Cookeville, will be conducted 11 a.m., Saturday, August 14 from the Livingston First Christian Church. Bro. Scott Copeland will officiate. Mrs. Carol Sue Copeland passed from this life on Wednesday, January 19, 2021 from the Cookeville Regional Medical Center from complications of COVID pneumonia. She grew up in Livingston, Tennessee and excelled academically, was well liked and had many friends. She was a cheerleader for Livingston Academy High School. Sue and Steve married at age 19 and Sue worked to support Steve through college at Tennessee Tech University and the Veterinary School at Auburn University, all while raising their young sons. When Steve completed his education at Auburn, the family returned to the Upper Cumberland, settled in Cookeville and established Copeland Veterinary Hospital. Sue was instrumental in the success of the practice and essentially did everything including managing the front desk, keeping the books, and assisting in the treatment areas as well as the kennel. Steve has always said that he gives credit to Sue for the success of Copeland Veterinary Hospital. She is Survived by her husband, Dr. Steve Copeland D.V.M; and, sons Dr. Scott (Mona) Copeland M.D., and Steven R. Copeland all of Cookeville. The family will welcome friends at the time of services.
