Obituaries For Friday, August 13

Pat Lamb, 63, of the Shiloh community of Jackson County, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020, at her residence. The family has chosen cremation, with memorial services at a later date.

A Memorial Service for Rosie Jean Edwards, 73 of Sparta, will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at Oak Lawn Funeral Home with Steve Qualls officiating. She passed away on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center. She was born Saturday, May 31, 1947 in Jamestown, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Bennie and Lillie Cobb Epperson. She was a founding member of Christ Point Church. She was preceded in death by her Father, Bennie Epperson, Mother, Lillie (Cobb) Epperson, Sisters, Anna Smith and Judy Eitel, and Brother-in-Law, Billy Vance. Survivors include Husband Byron Edwards; Children Tonya Perry (Lance Attanasio), Byron Edwards Jr. (Sharon), and Lily Loughman (Steve). The family will welcome friends on Saturday from 11:00 AM until time of the service at the funeral home.

Funeral Services for Mr. Ronnie J. Allen, age 70 of Gainesboro, will be conducted on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 1 pm in the Chapel of Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the New Salem Cemetery. He passed away on Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at his residence in Gainesboro at the age of 70. He was the son of Donald Ervin Allen and Ruth Meadows Allen. He retired from TRW in Lebanon and enjoyed NASCAR racing and deer hunting. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife Janet Roberts Allen of Gainesboro; son, Ricky (Christie) Allen of Gainesboro; daughter, Kristi (Anthony) Brown of Gainesboro. Visitation will be on Friday, August 14, 2020, 4-8 pm at Anderson Upper Cumberland Funeral Home and again on Saturday from 10 am to 1 pm. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the New Salem Cemetery.

Graveside Services for Mr. Larry Misenhimer, age 81 of Livingston, will be held 2 pm Sunday, August 16, from the Overton County Memorial Gardens. Rev. James Shenko will officiate. Mr. Misenhimer passed from this life on Thursday afternoon from the comfort of his residence. He loved his wife, children, and especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing, woodworking, hunting, and spending time with his family. He loved to go to church at the First Christian Church, where he served as an elder for many years. Larry leaves behind his loving wife of 60 years Irene Misenhimer of Livingston; sons Jeff Misenhimer and wife Suzanne of Livingston and Mike Misenhimer and wife Melissa of Mt. Juliet. The family will welcome friends at the gravside.

Funeral services for Phillip R. Murdock, age 54 of Sparta, will be conducted 2:00pm Sunday, August 16 from the Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with burial in Saylors Cemetery. Mr. Murdock passed away Tuesday evening, August 11 as a result of a motorcycle accident. His work career spanned from a long-time insurance agent to White County school bus driver to currently the Truck Pro office manager. Phillip was always eager and happy to help friends and family in any way he could. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kimberly Saylors; his stepson, Kalland and his mother, Louise Murdock. The family will receive friends from 4-8:00pm Saturday at Hunter Funeral Home. Bobby Moore and Paul Allen will officiate.

Funeral services for Mrs. Helen Smith will be held on Sunday, August 16, 2020 at 2 PM from the Chapel of the Hall Funeral Home of Livingston with burial to follow in the Hatcher Cemetery in Monroe, Overton Co. Helen passed from this life on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at the Saint Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. Helen was a wonderful wife to her husband James that went before her, a loving mother to her daughters who loved her and will miss her very much. Helen also loved all her siblings and family and friends, and she will be greatly missed. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday evening, August 15th starting at 5 PM until 8 PM. Officiating the service will be Bro. Chris Coil and Bro. Rick Cross.

Funeral services for Bettie Sue McBroom Matheney Clack, age 82 of Cookeville, will be at 3 p.m Sunday August 16 at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. Bro. Bob Farris will officiate. Interment will follow at the Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 4- 8 p.m. and Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time. Due to COVID-19 precautions, social distancing measures will be in place. Mrs. Clack passed away Wednesday morning August 12, 2020 at home.

Funeral services for Betty Joyce Barnes Brotherton, of Cookeville will be held Sunday, August 16 at 4:00 p.m. at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ with Buddy Johnson and Bobby Lane officiating. Betty passed away early in the morning August 13, 2020 at Cookeville Regional Hospital. She is survived by her husband, Robert; daughter, Linda Brotherton Williams (Jeff) of Cookeville; son, John Brotherton of Cary, NC. Betty loved her children and grandchildren. She loved taking them to the lake and did this up until spring of this year. She also enjoyed cooking, crafting and fishing. Her family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 p.m until service time at the church. Due to COVID-19 precautions, social distance measures will be in place.

A Celebration Of Life for William “Bill” James Sevier, Age 71 of Cumberland Cove Community, On Saturday August 29, 2020 At The Home Of Bill And Linda In Cumberland Cove From 5 PM To 7 PM. he passed On To Heavenly Glory On Monday August 3, 2020. Mr. Sevier, Was Born On January 19, 1949 In Salisbury, Maryland, To The Late George Franklin And Gwendolyn Jackson Sevier. Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, And Friend Is Survived By: His Wife Linda Of 49 Years. Sons Brian (Dani), Kevin (Nikki), Greg (Rachelle). Bill’s Loves Were Hunting, Fishing, Civil War history, Deer And Bird Watching, And Chatting With His Buddy Bobby. Bill And Linda Served As Missionaries In Jamaica Which Was A Springboard To Serving The Lord For His Entire Life. He Led Numerous Bible Studies, Men’s Groups, Leader Of Men’s Ministries And Was An Ordained Minister. He Dedicated His Professional Life To The Education Of Children In Salisbury, Maryland And Broward County, FL For Over 35 Years.
