Obituaries For Friday, April 17

Ms. Kathy Henry, Age 65, Of Cookeville, Passed Away Suddenly On Friday, April 17, 2020, At Her Home In Cookeville. Funeral Arrangements Are Incomplete.

Billy Wayne Mayberry, 59, of Gainesboro, passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at his residence. The family has chosen cremation, with a celebration of life to be held at a later date. He was born August 28, 1960, in Putnam County, to the late Claude Mayberry and Madaline Pryor Mayberry. On July 12, 1989, he was married to Sandy Jo Haney Mayberry, who survives. He worked for the Jackson County School System and Cookeville Regional Medical Center throughout his life. He enjoyed travelling, especially cruises and the casino. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 1 Son: Billy Joe Mayberry; and 2 Brothers. Survivors include his Wife: Sandy Jo Haney Mayberry of Gainesboro; 3 Sons: Randy (Jennifer) Mayberry, Ronnie (Andrea) Mayberry, and Raymond (Savannah) Mayberry, all of Jackson County; 2 Daughters: Anna (Thomas) Goodwin of Jackson County, and Emily (John) Kimberly of Hopkinsville, KY; 3 Brothers; 3 Sisters; 11 Grandchildren; and his Father and Mother in Law: Raymond and Louise Haney of Gainesboro. A host of family and special friends also survive, many from Cookeville Regional Medical Center 4 East and 6 East floor. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the donor’s favorite charity by contacting the funeral home.

Mrs. Roberta Phillips Thompson, age 83 of Sparta, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 at her niece’s residence in Baxter. Roberta was born January 22, 1937 in Sparta to the late Asco Vander & Della Brock Phillips.  She was a retired cashier at Sav-A-Lot and a longtime member of Greenwood Baptist Church. She had a quick wit and was a loyal friend to many. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Erbie Thompson; siblings Joe Phillips, James Phillips, Sue Coleman, Inez Colman and Emma Bradley. Survivors include her brother Nile Phillips; Nieces and caregivers: Crystal (Adrian) Acosta and Tabatha (Isidro) Ruiz; Several more nieces and nephews also survive. In honor of Roberta’s wishes, a private graveside service will be conducted at Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Kevin Charles Archambault, 52 of Baxter, passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2020. Kevin chose cremation, the family followed his wishes, and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

A private graveside service for Jeffery “Tyler” Martin Crouch, 23 of Cookeville, will be held at Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery on Saturday, April 18, 2020. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date. He passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 14, 2020. Tyler, known to his friends as Ducky, was born on August 20, 1996, in McMinnville to Melisa (Corn) McCollough and Jeffery Crouch. Tyler graduated from Cookeville High School in 2015. He later graduated from cosmetology school at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology. He completed an additional program at Mister Wayne’s Barber and Beauty School to pursue barber’s license in 2019. Tyler was a gentle soul who enjoyed spending hours painting and designing. He was a gifted barber, an avid NASCAR fan, and enjoyed almost all sports. He strived to help those in need and had a strong desire to make the world a better place. Tyler loved to make others laugh, and often volunteered his time giving haircuts to those in need at homeless shelters. He believed strongly in helping others find ways to feel good about themselves. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and cousin. Tyler is survived by his parents Melisa and Brad McCollough and Jeffery Crouch; sister Erin Mekkaoui and husband Sam; step-sisters Erin Kirouac and husband Jason; Abby Prichard and husband Curtis; nephew Noah Mekkaoui, and nieces Taylor Kirouac, Brooklyn Kirouac, and Evie Prichard; grandparents William and Nelta Corn and Marvin McCollough; uncles and aunts Steve and Santje Corn, Eva Sue and Bruce Barton, Colleen and Orbin Logan; special cousins Hana Corn, Elijah Corn, and Levi Corn; and numerous friends and loved ones. Tyler was preceded in death by grandparents Gideon and Arza Crouch and Reba McCollough, and nephew Evan Kirouac. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mustard Seed Ranch.

Graveside services and interment for the family of Mrs. Mary Flynn, age 78, of Cookeville, will be held Saturday, April 18th in Shipley Cemetery. Bro. Mike Adams will officiate. Mary Flynn, age 78, passed from this life to her eternal life on April 16, 2020 at her residence. She was born September 1, 1941 in Overton County to the late Roxie and William Cooper. Mrs. Flynn lived her adolescent and young adult years in Anderson, Indiana. After living several years in Lakeland, Florida she returned to her favorite place of all, Tennessee. Mrs. Flynn was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Flynn; and brothers, Jimmy and Billy Cooper. She is survived by sons, Robert (Lisa) Sells and Carl (Kim) Sells all of Cookeville; step-son, Jerry (Terry) Flynn of Missouri ; grandchildren, Robert, Cade and Ryan Sells, Carlie Winegar, Cole Adams and Keeley Fields; ten great grandchildren; four nieces and nephews, and a special friend whom she loved as a granddaughter, Sierra Sisco. Memorial contributions may be made in Mary’s honor to Mt. Pleasant Freewill Baptist Church, 4825 Buck Mountain Rd., Cookeville, TN 38506.

Private burial for Marla Dionne Murray, age 51 of Sparta, will be held on April 18, 2020 at 12:00 P.M. and a celebration of life will be held at a later date due to Covid-19. She passed away on Wednesday, April 15th, 2020 at her home of Sparta. Marla was born in White County, on September 19th, 1968 to Betty and Donnie Farley. She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Dycus Farley. She is survived by her husband, Montuka Murray; children, Malik Murray, Mia Murray; father, Donnie Farley; brother, Brent Farley; sister, Marsha Jackson (Jermaine); mother-in-law, Vickie Murray; sister-in-law, Victory Murray; niece, Gabriella Stout (Micah); nephew, Austin Farley; aunts & uncles, Gwen (Roy) Johnson, Charles (Paulette) Dycus, Brenda (Billy) Anderson and a host of cousins. In lieu of flowers Marla would like to give to the Betty Farley Scholarship fund at First National Bank.

Private Graveside services for Jewel “Tootsie” Dillon, age 85 of Algood will be held at Zion Hill Cemetery on Saturday April 18 at 2:00pm with Bro. Scott Nesbitt Officiating. Jewel Dean Dillon was born on August 3, 1934 in Overton County to the late John Hermon and Delta Alred Winningham. She passed away surrounded by loved ones on April 16, 2020 in White County TN. She was a Loving wife, mother, grandmother great grandmother and a child of the Lord.

Graveside services  for  Mrs. Rena K. Fuqua, 99, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday, April  20, 2020, at the Crest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Cookeville. She passed away on Thursday, April 16, 2020, at Signature Health Care in Algood. She was born April 9, 1921, in Jackson County, to the late Marlin S. Kirby and Mattie Meadows Kirby. She was married to the late Lawrence Fuqua. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Smyrna Church of Christ. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by 1 Daughter: Linda Fuqua Adams; 2 Brothers: Joe Kirby and Clarence Kirby; and 2 Sisters: Effie Carter and Ila Burgess. Survivors include 1 Son: Steve Fuqua of Cookeville; 1 Grandchild: Bret Snow of Gallatin; Great Grandchildren: Jacob E. Snow and Taylor E. Snow, of Gallatin; Nieces and Nephews: Kim, Michelle, Charles, Karen, Joseph, Greg, Larry, and Peggy. There will be no visitation or services at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Smyrna Church of Christ or St. Jude Children’s Hospital by contacting the funeral home.

Private Graveside service for Mary Ann (Gergert) Jones, 83, of Sparta, will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2020 at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Jerry Womack officiating. She passed away Thursday, April 16, 2020 in Sparta. Mrs. Jones was born January 20, 1937 in Fredonia, Kansas to the late Emil and Lotti Stewart Gergert. Mrs. Jones was retired from Mallory Timers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her; Husband- H.L. Jones, Sisters- Ruby Bryant and Thelma Jean Gergert, Granddaughter E. Michelle Green, Great-Granddaughter- Brooklyn J. Green and Twin Brother- Maralynn Gergert. Survivors include; Daughters- Reba Jones and Georgie Jones. Sons- Bailey, Michael, and Calvin Jones. Granddaughters- Reba Rogers, Regina Green, Kristen Jones, Leah and Lacy Russell. Grandsons- David Jr. and James Green(Amanda), Cody, Steven, Keith Bailey Jones Jr. and Michael Hendrien. Great-Grandchildren- Alley and Hunter Rogers, Kaylee and Jacob Knowles, Emma and Johnny Green, Kenzligh Green, Nathaniel and Alyssa Randolph. Special friends- Alton and Rosie Roberts.
