WCSO Investigating Alleged Abuse Incident at Woodland Park

The White County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) confirmed Friday they are investigating claims of an alleged abuse incident that took place at Woodland Park Elementary School.

Public Information Officer Cami Howard said the investigation is ongoing and that details could not be disclosed due to a minor being involved.

The White County Board of Education issued a statement during Thursday’s meeting an incident between a Pre-K teacher and a four-year-old child at Woodland Park had taken place in November.

The child’s mother, Lisa Eller, addressed the board Thursday saying the teacher involved forced the child to vomit after allegedly stealing a slice of pizza.

The Tennessee Department of Children’s Services also confirmed Friday they have been made aware of the incident and any investigation of theirs would be handled through their White County office. White County DCS declined to comment on the situation and referred to the state office.

WCSO said an official statement would be released once the case is completed.
