Warren County Schools will start an analysis to determine the need for new school zones.
Director Grant Swallows said that he believes its been at least ten years since the last time the zones were updated. He said that a new law requires an open enrollment period for all schools in all zones across the state.
“Once we’ve gotten that figured out, then that would help us understand what our zoning issues are at our different schools,” Swallows said. “And you know anytime you got zones that are several years old, I think it’s a good practice to look at those and make sure we’re still currently serving our population the way we need to.”
Swallows said that he anticipates the process to be a long one, but expects no major changes. He said that they will hopefully have the analysis completed and potentially ready to implement by the 2024-2025 school year.
