Warren County Schools’ new substitute teacher staffing process going successfully.
The system decided to move that process in-house from previously using an outside contractor. Director of Schools Grant Swallows said they’ve had more than 215 applications, and have hired about 80 substitutes.
“Ultimately it’s tough to get subs right now so that allowed us 1. to offer more compensation,” Swallows said. “And 2. it allowed us to have a little bit more control over that.”
Swallows said he believes the number of hired subs will continue to climb as the school year goes on.
Swallows said that the system is pleased with the change. He said that this has been a strategic investment that will continue to serve the Warren County School System as the years go on.
