Volunteer State Community College at Livingston will host an information session for the new nursing degree program Tuesday.
Coordinator of Public Relations and Marketing Eric Melcher said the session will give those interested the tools to apply for the program.
“We are very excited about it,” Melcher said. “And we are having an information session on Tuesday, April 23 at 6 PM at the Livingston Campus for folks that are interested in the program.”
The program officially begins in June 2019. Melcher said the degree program allows students to use their Tennessee Promise and Tennessee Reconnect funding.
“The Nursing Associate of Applied Science degree that we will be offering is a two-year degree,” Melcher said. “So it gives folks a chance to sit for their RN nursing certification.”
A special application for the program is available on the Vol-State website. Students that are current pre-nursing students will most likely be ready to apply for the summer.
The application deadline is May 1.
