V and F Transformers in Celina is bringing an additional 50 jobs to the community.
The once family owned corporation has been bought out by Spire Power Solutions. Tommy Benson is the new General Manager of the Celina location. He said the new owner opens a new market across the globe.
“We’re just planning on maybe retrofitting a few things into the building that we’re in now,” Benson said. “There is a team with Spire Power Solutions that are looking at maybe moving to another facility and expanding that.”
Benson said the transformer building company will now have three-shifts through the additional jobs. Benson said the goal is to have the positions filled by February.
“We’re in the beginning stages of hiring,” Benson said. “We have one shift that works 40 hours, four days of 10 hour shifts Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Then, a night shift works the same days but in the evenings and a weekend shift.”
Benson said those looking for a job can stop by at the Walnut Avenue facility. Benson said the company builds dry transformers that are usually outside large buildings or businesses.
