Hanging baskets, tomato plants, flower trays or pepper plants, the Van Buren County High School Spring Plant Sale has what you need.
Agriculture Teacher Kurt Maynard said the sale is ongoing until the greenhouse is empty.
Maynard said the plants are grown in a 30 by 50 state of the art greenhouse on campus. Maynard said students operate the greenhouse and learn how to care for plants throughout the semester. Maynard said a class of nine students yielded this year’s plant sale.
Maynard said the prices of the plants beat any other compared to big name suppliers. Maynard said the hottest item are the $10 hanging baskets. Trays of vegetables or flowers cost $10. Potted plants cost $3.
Maynard said you can come to the high school’s greenhouse from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. to shop. Go to 337 Sparta Street in Spencer. The sale will last as long as supplies last.
