The Upper Cumberland Development District is looking to hire a Tourism Recovery Coordinator.
Director Mark Farley said the position was created last year using a grant opportunity to help ramp back up the tourism industry post-pandemic. He said that the person serving in this role could have a huge impact on the region.
“You know we’ve got a lot of great resources, a lot of those resources people are aware of such as Fall Creek Falls, Cummins Falls, we’ve got a lot of great assets in our region that we just need to get the knowledge and information out on how you can visit those and spend your time in the Upper Cumberland.”
Farley said that they are looking for an individual with a creative mindset and has a passion for the Upper Cumberland, and that marketing skills are a plus.
“What we’ve beeen working on the list yea rand want to contnune is creating daytrip ideals,” Farley said. “So we have bene working very closely with our mapping person to try to put together content that our chambers can put on their websites and also market independently. We’ve also been exploring workign with WCTE as far as creating some video content that they can run on WCTE, as well as chambers in the communities can have to put that on their websites.”
