Anyone can fish without a license in public waters today.
Free Fishing Day is an annual event created by the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency.
A press release said the TWRA hopes the free day will increase interest in fishing, especially in young children.
All public waters, TWRA owned lakes, and state park facilities will participate Saturday and throughout the week.
The TWRA stocks several thousand pounds of fish for various events throughout the year.
Children under 15-years-old may fish without a license until Friday, June 14.
