Algood police arrested two Putnam County individuals following a consensual search Thursday.
Officers charged 30-year-old Edward Mcabee of Cookeville and 29-year-old Destiny Tirey of Monterey with possession of methamphetamine.
Authorities made contact with Mcabee and Tirey during a casual encounter with a vehicle at 285 E. Main Street. Mcabee was identified as the driver.
Arrest warrants indicate that a search of the vehicle revealed a bag in the backseat with approximately 3 grams of a white crystalline substance. The bag also contained digital scales and a notebook with Tirey’s name on it.
Officials booked Mcabee ad Tirey into the Putnam County Jail on a $10,000 and $7,000 bond.
